WWE To Host First Pay-Per-View In Italy

WWE is set to continue its global expansion by hosting its first-ever pay-per-view event in Italy.

WWE’s President, Nick Khan, spoke with SportsBusiness and said that the company is planning to host its first-ever PPV event in Italy early next year. He did not provide any other details on the PPV, Khan stated:

“Almost half of our Premium Live Events take place outside of the United States now. We believe WWE is a global property, we believe the results on these shows both in terms of attendance and viewership [locally and globally] have been significant. We have seen year-over-year increases for viewership on each one.”

What Other European Pay-Per-Views Have WWE Hosted?

WWE recently hosted a pay-per-view from Europe, with last month’s Clash In Paris taking place in Paris, France. The company’s first European PPV was the 1992 SummerSlam, which took place in London, England and saw Bret Hart face The British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Title in the main event.

Since then, they have held 20 PPVs in England, with only two of those not being UK-exclusive shows or NXT Takeovers. One show in Germany, Wales, and Scotland, and two in France. And they have held at least one PPV in Europe every year since 2022.
