WWE Announces Sami Zayn Is Out “Indefinitely” Following Raw Injury Angle

Sami Zayn is officially out of action “indefinitely” according to WWE following his match last night on Raw.

Last night, Sami Zayn was blindsided by Karrion Kross just before his scheduled match with Bron Breakker. Despite the ambush, Zayn insisted on competing, but Breakker speared Zayn outside the ring, then again inside to seal the deal. And if that wasn’t enough, Paul Heyman later appeared backstage to announce Zayn was being taken off TV “indefinitely” due to the combined damage from both Kross and Breakker.

Zayn came into the match already taped up, nursing injuries from last week’s metal pipe attack at the hands of Kross. Commentary sold the injuries hard, with Michael Cole begging the ref to stop the match.

But Zayn wasn’t the only one taken out this week. Bronson Reed took out Jey Uso after their match ended in a disqualification, hitting him with two Tsunami splashes.

Later in the night, after Seth Rollins defeated Penta in the main event, Heyman tried to set up yet another post-match assault, but LA Knight had other plans as he jumped the barricade and levelled Rollins before Breakker or Reed could do anything.

How Long Will Sami Zayn Be Out Of Action For?

WWE has made no announcement on just how long Sami Zayn will be out for, and given that this injury angle seems to be just a storyline injury, I doubt it will be for long, seeing that they seem to be setting up some faction warfare between Rollins’ group and Knight, Penta and Zayn. Maybe we will see a six-man tag match take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event, or on one of the SummerSlam nights.
