Solo Sikoa To Defend WWE US Title At Saturday Night’s Main Event

Solo Sikoa will put the WWE United States Championship on the line at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In a video on social media on July 10th, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa will “settle their differences” at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, Georgia. WWE confirmed that the match will also mark the first time Sikoa will defend the US Title.

Solo Sikoa captured the US Title from Jacob Fatu at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, he didn’t do it alone, as JC Mateo and Tonga Loa both got involved in the match with attacks on Fatu.
It wasn’t enough, though, and Sikoa was only able to overcome his former ally with help from the debuting Talla Tonga, who pulled The Samoan Werewolf out of the ring, dropped him on the announce table and threw him back into the ring, where Solo ended the match with a Samoan Spike for the pinfall win.
In recent weeks, Fatu has allied himself with Jimmy Uso, and on the July 4th edition of SmackDown, the pair defeated Mateo and Sikoa in a tag team bout, with Fatu pinning Solo. That wasn’t the end of the night, though, as Sikoa’s allies saved him from further damage from Fatu and gave the former US Champion a Triple Powerbomb through the announce desk to close the show.
