Several New Matches Added To WWE Evolution And Saturday Night’s Main Event
By Conor Renshaw on 1 July 2025
WWE added two new matches to the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event show for July 12, and four new matches were added to the Evolution line-up.
Let’s talk about Saturday Night’s Main Event first.
First up, Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight is going down, with the match being announced during this week’s episode of Raw. Knight’s been itching for payback ever since Money in the Bank, and now he’s getting his shot
But that’s not all.
Over on SmackDown, which was taped before Raw yesterday, the show opened with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton reflecting on their Night of Champions match, until Drew McIntyre stormed the party. Yes, Drew’s back, and the segment ended with Orton dropping McIntyre with an RKO, and shortly after, Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton in Atlanta on July 12 was made official.
This will be McIntyre’s first match since May 24, when he lost to Damian Priest in a steel cage at the last Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Now onto Evolution.
In the opening segment of Raw last night, current WWE Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky confronted Rhea Ripley and told her that Raw GM Adam Pearce said that she could have her pick of opponents for Evolution and that she was issuing the challenge to Ripley, which she gladly accepted.
In a backstage segment, Pearce allowed Roxanne Perez to take Liv Morgan’s place as one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Raquel Rodriguez, with Morgan being out with injury. Pearce then said that Perez and Rodriguez will have to defend the title at Evolution against one team from Raw, one from SmackDown, and one from NXT. And on the SmackDown tapings that occurred last night, Alex Bliss and Charlotte Flair won their three-way tag match against Michin and B-Fab, and Alba Fyre and Piper Niven to earn their place in the four-way tag match.
Also during Raw, Pearce and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announced that there will be a Battle Royal taking place at Evolution, with the winner getting a shot at one of the women’s titles at the upcoming Clash in Paris on August 31.
And finally, during the SmackDown tapings, Trish Stratus returned to confront Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and the segment concluded with a title match between the two being made official for Evolution.
