Rey Mysterio Injury Scare On WWE Raw
By Conor Renshaw on 27 January 2026
Rey Mysterio is believed to have suffered a legitimate injury during his match on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Rey Mysterio was hurt while facing Austin Theory but managed to finish the bout. He did not take part in the post-match angle involving The Vision, which saw Dragon Lee and Penta laid out. Instead, Mysterio remained on the ring apron, clutching his shoulder as medical staff attended to him, with the referee signalling an “X” to indicate a potential injury.
Once the segment concluded, the broadcast cut quickly to a promo from Natalya while Mysterio was assisted to the back.
When Did Rey Mysterio Return From His Previous Injury?
The timing is concerning, as Rey Mysterio only recently returned from a groin injury in November and had resumed his rivalry with Dominik Mysterio. In recent weeks, he has aligned with Penta and Dragon Lee in a programme against The Vision. Earlier in the show, Adam Pearce reinstated Bron Breakker and placed all members of the group into the Royal Rumble, setting up the Mysterio–Theory rematch on the spot.
The incident follows another recent in-ring scare, after last week’s match between Je’Von Evans and El Grande Americano was stopped due to an apparent injury. Evans later stated on Raw that he was fine and confirmed himself for the Royal Rumble.
