New WWE Evolve Champion Crowned On Special Succession Episode

A new WWE Evolve Women’s Champion was crowned last night on a special episode titled Succession.

In the main event of the Succession episode, Kali Armstrong put her title on the line against a name from WWE’s NIL program, Kendal Grey. Armstrong was the inaugural Evolve Women’s Title Champion and has held the title since the May 28 episode of Evolve, after she defeated Wendy Choo, Grey, and Kylie Rae in a Fatal Four-Way Elimination match. However, Armstrong actually won the title on April 25 when the May 28 episode of taped, but WWE only recognises the reign from May 28.

Similarly, WWE only recognises Grey’s reign from yesterday onwards, despite the fact that she actually won the title on September 23 when the episode was taped. The finish of the match saw Armstrong running the ropes to set up her pounce finishing move, but Grey countered and used Armstrong’s momentum as she was running to deliver a twisting scoop slam to get the three count.

What Else Happened On Last Night’s WWE Evolve?

Besides Grey winning the WWE Evolve Women’s Title, Jackson Drake put the men’s version of the title on the line against Bryce Donovan, but unlike Armstrong, he was able to retain his championship. Tate Wilder also took on Brooks Jensen in a bull rope match.

The next episode of Evolve will air on October 22 on Tubi in the US.
