Naomi Wins WWE Women’s World Title & New Number One Contender Made Official At Evolution

Naomi successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and won the WWE Women’s World Championship, and a new number one contender for Clash in Paris was crowned last night at Evolution.

Naomi used her Money in the Bank contract during Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley’s match for the Women’s World Title to make the match a Triple Threat. She capitalised on the moment by cashing in when both Sky and Ripley were down.

After the match had been made official, she clocked Sky with the Money in the Bank briefcase, threw Ripley into the ring post, and then hit Sky with a split-legged moonsault to get the pin and claim the Women’s World Championship, ending Sky’s 133-day run as champion.

This is Naomi’s first world championship since returning to the company in 2024, with her last WWE world title run being in 2017. Her most recent world title win was when she won the TNA Knockouts title in July 2023 and held it until January 2024.

Who Could Challenge Naomi For Her Newly Won WWE Women’s World Title?

Earlier in the night at Evolution, Stephanie Vaquer won the 20-woman Battle Royal to earn the right to challenge for a world title at Clash in Paris. Vaquer outlasted all the other women by last eliminating NXT’s Lash Legend.

Vaquer will have to wait until after SummerSlam at the beginning of August to get her match on August 31, but she will be able to challenge whoever holds the Women’s World Title or the Women’s Championship, currently held by Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, respectively.
