Mike Santana Defeats Trick Williams To Win TNA World Championship At Bound For Glory
By Conor Renshaw on 12 October 2025
Trick Williams dropped the TNA World Title at last night’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view to Mike Santana in the main event.
Mike Santana made his entrance in the main event of Bound for Glory with wrestling legend and fellow former LAX member, Konan. Williams then made his entrance and, following the Santana’s championship match introduction, cut a promo on Santana, saying he would “beat your a** like you’re the Boston Red Sox. Standing at a taller than you, six-foot four, weighing in at a sexy 255 pounds. The greatest TNA Champion of all time. The man responsible for every a** in a seat tonight.” But before Williams could finish his own introduction, Santana delivered a big boot and began beating him to start the match.
Santana’s daughter got involved in the bout as during the match, following an outside of the ring attack on Santana, Williams approached Santana’s daughter, who was sitting in the front row and said, “Who’s your daddy now?” to her, to which she replied to him with a slap to the face to allow Santana time to deliver a over the top rope dive to change the momentum of the match.
The finish of the match saw Williams attempt to deliver a Trick Shot, but Santana dodged it and hit a clothesline, followed by a Spin the Block to get the three count and the TNA World Title.
Nic Nemeth came out following the match to attempt to cash in his Call Your Shot Gauntlet title opportunity, but Elijah stopped him on the entranceway with a guitar shot. Frankie Kazarian also attempted to cash in his Call Your Shot opportunity, but Santana stopped him with another Spin the Block to finish the night standing tall as TNA World Champion.
How Long Did Trick Williams Hold The TNA World Title For?
Trick Williams held the TNA World Championship for 140 days after he defeated Joe Hendry to win the title at NXT Battleground on May 25. He defended the title five times during his reign and had the opportunity to unify the NXT Title and the TNA World Championship in a match against Oba Femi on the September 23 episode of NXT. He has previously held the NXT Title on two occasions in 2024.
What did you think of Santana’s win last night? Did you think it was the right time to have Williams drop the title? Or do you think he should have lost it to someone else?
