Karrion Kross Denies His WWE Firing Is A Work

Karrion Kross “would never” run an angle faking losing his job.
Although they were being featured on WWE TV early in 2025, the company allowed Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts to expire on August 10th. The abrupt nature of the departure led many fans to initially believe the situation to be a work, but that speculation has been dying down since the pair have been appearing on the convention circuit under the names Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux.
During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Kross explained that a storyline that saw him lose his job and later come back would not be in good taste and is something he wouldn’t do.
“There are hundreds of people who have been coming to the table, a lot of them angry because they were hoping it was a work and there would be a payoff. I would never work somebody like that. To me, it’s not in good taste. Running an angle where you lose your job and upset people is not something I would do. I understand why people thought it was going to be a work, they were hoping it was going to be a work.”
It wasn’t just fans who thought Kross and Scarlett would be back, as he showed a text message from a co-worker questioning if he had left.
“A lot of the guys didn’t know. We were like, ‘Let’s see what happens. Maybe they’ll recover the situation.’ We remained somewhat quiet about it.”
Karrion Kross To Compete In First Match Since WWE Release
Karrion Kross will take part in his first post-WWE match on September 21st when he competes for independent promotion WrestlePro at their ‘Killer Smokeshow’ event in Rahway, New Jersey. The star’s opponent for the show is yet to be announced.
