Joe Hendry Signs With WWE
By Conor Renshaw on 13 November 2025
It has been reported that former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has signed a contract with WWE.
After Joe Hendry was notably absent from TNA Bound For Glory on October 12, and with him appearing more frequently on NXT, Fightful Select has now reported that the reason for this is that Hendry has officially signed a WWE contract.
It has been anticipated for a long time that Hendry would be making the jump from TNA to WWE, as WWE’s higher-ups, including the likes of Shawn Michaels, are very high on the 37-year-old Scottish star’s work.
The report also states that WWE bought out the remainder of Hendry’s TNA deal, as he still had some months left on his contract with them. There are apparently no burnt bridges, as Hendry worked with TNA to make his departure as smooth as possible.
Joe Hendry In WWE
Joe Hendry made his WWE debut on the June 18, 2024, episode of NXT, representing TNA in a 25-man Battle Royal for the number one contendership for the NXT Title. He made numerous NXT appearances throughout the rest of 2024, and on February 1, 2025, Hendry made his first pay-per-view appearance as he entered 15th in the Royal Rumble.
Hendry then made a surprise WrestleMania debut at night two of WrestleMania 41 as Randy Orton’s opponent, replacing the injured Kevin Owens. He has since made more appearances in NXT throughout the rest of this year and is set to challenge Ethan Page and Chelsea Green for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship at NXT Gold Rush, teaming with Thea Hail.
