Jimmy Hart Opens Up On Hulk Hogan’s Death

Jimmy Hart has spoken about Hulk Hogan’s death and recalled the last time he spoke to the legendary star.
At the age of 71, Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24th, reportedly following a cardiac arrest. One of the men who was with him for most of his career, Jimmy Hart, has given his thoughts on the WWE Hall of Famer’s death in an interview with People.
Hart said he called Hogan the night before he passed, but was unable to speak to the star. Instead, Hogan’s assistant told him he was “doing great.”
“I called [Hogan] on Wednesday night, and then Thursday morning is when everything took place. So just…just overnight it all happened, but it was so positive the day before.”
Hart had not seen Hogan for some time, as the Hulkster had recently undergone surgery, and he didn’t want to risk giving him an infection.
“It just hits so fast. It was like, ‘Oh my God.’ We thought he was doing so well, you know? We didn’t go to see him at the house and didn’t go to see him at the hospital, because we wanted to make sure that he didn’t get any infections or anything else, like if anybody had a cold or brought anything in. So, that’s what we all did.”
Hart told People that he usually met Hogan a few times a week to watch wrestling and every Monday for karaoke at ‘Hogan’s Hangout,’ the family’s bar in Clearwater, Florida. The last time he saw him about a month ago, Hart says Hogan was “phenomenal.”
“He was great. He had great food to eat that night. He was talking with the fans. He was just phenomenal.”

In the wake of his passing, stars from around the world have paid tribute to Hulk Hogan. The tributes included Ric Flair, who believes no one will ever compare to the Hulkster, while Triple H credited him as the “archetype of what it meant to be a ‘superstar.’
Hogan’s old foe Sting called Hogan “the greatest of all,” and Vince McMahon even made a rare public statement on the death of the “trailblazer” who helped him build WWE into a global powerhouse.
