Dustin Rhodes Signs 6-Year AEW Deal As Kevin Von Erich Also Becomes All Elite

It’s now confirmed that Dustin Rhodes’ new contract with AEW, which he signed in December 2024, is for a six-year term. And the legendary Kevin Von Erich has also signed a deal with the company.

That news of Rhodes’ contract came via a profile in the Dallas Morning News, which highlighted that Rhodes would serve as a consultant, coach, occasional wrestler, and ambassador through the end of the contract. If he makes it to the end of his current contract, he will have been involved in the business throughout six different decades, as this contract will span until 2030, and he made his debut in 1988.

At 56 years old, Rhodes currently holds the ROH Tag Team Title with Sammy Guevara and the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship with Marshall and Ross Von Erich. Rhodes also told the Dallas Morning News that he still has aspirations of becoming a World Champion one more time before he retires.

Who Else Joined Dustin Rhodes In Signing A New AEW Deal?

Speaking of the Von Erichs, it has also been announced that WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Von Erich has also penned a new deal with Tony Khan’s promotion. The news broke on Ross and Marshall Von Erich’s latest episode of their podcast, The Claw. They informed fans that their father is now All Elite.

He’s made sporadic appearances for AEW in recent years, including accompanying Ross, Marshall, and Rhodes to the ring when they won the ROH Six-Man Tag Title at Battle of the Belts XI, but now he’s part of the team in an official capacity.

Ross confirmed it’s not a wrestling contract, stating that Kevin’s deal is a sort of Legends deal, which is a type of contract WWE has been offering to wrestling legends for years now.

The WWE Legends contract allows the company to use the wrestler’s likeness for merchandising, video games, and other promotional materials, whilst allowing them to make appearances in other promotions with some limitations.

Kevin will be with his sons this weekend in Texas for the ROH Supercard of Honor and for All In. While the Von Erichs haven’t been formally announced for Supercard, they teased a Trios Title defence alongside Rhodes, who is already booked for a Tag Title match.
