Cody Rhodes Vs. Drew McIntyre For WWE Title Confirmed For Saturday Night’s Main Event

Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship has been made official for Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

Following Cody Rhodes’ and Drew McIntyre’s impromptu match on last Friday’s episode of SmackDown, which ended abruptly via disqualification, General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed last night via social media that the pair will have the chance to have a do-over of their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 in the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Aldis said in a video on Twitter that he had been speaking with fellow WWE officials and upper management about what to do with the whole Cody and Drew situation, and that they have decided to make the match official for the upcoming TV special. McIntyre was supposed to face Jacob Fatu on last week’s SmackDown to determine the number one contender for SNME; however, Fatu was written off of TV with a storyline injury while he recovers from an actual injury, leading to McIntyre and Rhodes’ match on the show.

When Was The Last Time Cody Rhodes And Drew McIntyre Faced Off Against Each Other?

The last time Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre faced each other in singles action was at the Wrestlepalooza pay-per-view on September 20, where McIntyre challenged Rhodes for his WWE Title. Rhodes and McIntyre have only faced each other one other time in singles action in WWE on the February 19, 2024, episode of Monday Night Raw. In that matchup, McIntyre got the better of Rhodes, meaning they are currently tied at one match win each in WWE.

Rhodes and McIntyre did actually face each other one other time back in 2017 for WCPW, and Rhodes was the victor in that bout also.
