Baron Corbin Attacks Trick Williams Post-Smackdown, Will Face Him For The US Title At Summerslam

WWE ran a post-show angle after Smackdown went off the air on July 25, 2026 that saw Baron Corbin emerge from the crowd to attack WWE Men’s US Champion Trick Williams at ringside. Williams had been involved in the Smackdown main event, a four-way match to determine the second competitor in a Number One Contender’s match at Summerslam. The match also included WWE Men’s Tag Team Champion Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Royce Keys, with Balor emerging victorious after a Coup de Grace on Priest.

As Trick was leaving ringside, he was attacked by Corbin and WWE socials have announced that Trick will now defend the title against Corbin in Minneapolis. Balor, by virtue of winning the four-way, will now face Sami Zayn at Summerslam and the winner of that will be first in line to face the winner of the CM Punk-Cody Rhodes Undisputed WWE Championship match.
