AEW World Title Match Made Official For WrestleDream

The AEW World Championship will be on the line at the upcoming WrestleDream pay-per-view on Saturday, October 18.

On last night’s sixth anniversary show of Dynamite, current AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page teamed up with The Opps’ Powerhouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe to take on the Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Jon Moxley in a winning effort. However, following their win, Page attempted to hand Hobbs and Joe their AEW Trios Title belts, but as he handed Joe his, it fell to the mat, and Joe believed this was a deliberate slight against him.

The two got into a verbal altercation, and it quickly turned physical, and the pair had to be separated by event security. Page then issued a challenge to Joe for a match for the AEW World Title at WrestleDream, which Joe later accepted.

Have Adam Page And Samoa Joe Ever Had A One-On-One Match In AEW?

Adam Page and Samoa Joe have never gone one-on-one against each other in AEW, and the two men have only been on opposing sides of a ring on two occasions, once on the February 21, 2024, episode of Dynamite, where Page teamed with Hook and Rob Van Dam to take on Joe, Brian Cage, and Swerve Strickland. And the other time they faced each other was in a three-way match at the March 3, 2024, Revolution PPV, where Strickland was also involved in the match.
