AAA Star La Hiedra Is Seemingly WWE-Bound
By Conor Renshaw on 2 July 2025
It has been reported that AAA’s La Hiedra has signed a contract with WWE.
According to Fightful Select, the 28-year-old La Hiedra is believed to have signed a new deal with WWE. While nothing has been confirmed by either WWE or AAA, multiple sources close to the luchadora say she’s been letting people know she’s clearing her calendar for upcoming WWE obligations.
This comes hot on the heels of reports that WWE has already scooped up Mr. Iguana, Psycho Clown, and Octagon Jr., with many other names also reportedly already on the company’s books, as WWE continues to expand its reach into Mexico’s deep talent pool.
La Hiedra has been with AAA since 2015 and has captured the World Mixed Tag, World Trios, and Northern Women’s Titles during her tenure with the promotion.
What’s Next For La Hiedra?
La Hiedra is still scheduled to wrestle at AAA’s Verano de Escandalo on July 11. She’s slated for a mixed tag team bout against NXT’s Lola Vice and TNA’s Santino Marella, teaming with the previously mentioned Mr. Iguana, a match that reportedly required clearance from WWE.
If all this signing news is true, it could definitely mean WWE has bigger plans for its expansion into the Mexican territories following their acquisition of AAA
So, what do you think? Are these smart business tactics by WWE, or are they collecting names without real plans? Will WWE find success in Mexico, and if so, will they expand to even more territories around the world?
Let’s hear your take in the comments.
