2 Titles Change Hands At NXT Heatwave
By Conor Renshaw on 25 August 2025
Last night at WWE NXT Heatwave, both the NXT Tag Team and the TNA Knockouts Championship changed hands in consecutive matches.
In the second match on the card, the NXT Tag Team Championship was on the line as former champions Hank Walker and Tank Ledger defended against DarkState’s Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin. As Hank and Tank were about to pick up the win, DarkState’s Cutler James interfered in the match, causing a distraction that allowed Lennox and Griffin to regroup and hit a Doomsday Device onto Tank to get the three count and the tag titles.
In the match that followed, the TNA Knockouts Title was up for grabs in a Triple Threat Match as former champ Jacy Jayne defended against Ash by Elegance and Masha Slamovich. The finish of the match saw Jayne hit Slamovich with a rolling encore, but Elegance’s entourage at ringside pulled Jayne out of the ring, giving Ash the opportunity to nail Slamovich with a Sawnton Bomb to win the Knockouts Championship.
What Other Title Matches Took Place On NXT Heatwave?
In the main event of the show, Oba Femi defended his NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans after Evans became the number one contender on the August 19 episode of NXT, defeating Trick Williams in a number one contender match. Oba Femi was about to successfully defend his title against Je’Von Evans, and after the match ended, Rick Saints came out, and he and Femi had a stare-down to close out the show.
