What the World Was Watching: WWF Superstars – September 16, 1995

–A video package recaps Hakushi’s recent problems with Skip and hypes their match on today’s show.

–Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler are calling the action and they are taped from Erie, Pennsylvania.  In a weird taping quirk, most of the September Superstars tapings took place in Erie except for the September 9 episode, which was taped in Canton, Ohio along with several Monday Night RAW episodes.

What the World Was Watching: Monday Night RAW – September 11, 1995

–Vince McMahon recaps the events of the Shawn Michaels-Razor Ramon ladder match at SummerSlam and how Sid looks to “tear down the Heartbreak Hotel” tonight while Ramon faces the newly turned British Bulldog.

–To kick off the “new fall season” of Monday Night RAW the company abandons the intro that RAW used for the better part of two and half years and replaces it with an introduction of wrestlers battling on the top of Titan Towers in Connecticut.  The highlight is Shawn Michaels dancing atop a platform and then diving on top of Kama.  Later footage from this opening would be used for D-Generation X’s Titantron video in 1997.

What the World Was Watching: WWF Superstars – September 9, 1995

–A video package hypes today’s big feature match between Dean Douglas and the 1-2-3 Kid.  Will the Kid get sent to the principal’s office?

–Since this is the new fall season, Superstars gets a new theme song for the first time in more than a year, with it being a knockoff of the Monday Night Football theme asking “Are you ready?”  The funny thing with an intro like this is that half the talent in it had quit or was released by January 1996 so they had to redo the lyrics, all of which were tied to a specific superstar.

What the World Was Watching: SummerSlam 1995

–Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler are doing commentary and they are live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  McMahon announces that 18,062 fans are in attendance, setting a record for the Pittsburgh Civic Arena.  According to thehistoryofwwe.com, this was the reported attendance figure with 17,000 of those fans paying to attend the show.

What the World Was Watching: Monday Night RAW – August 21, 1995

–Footage of Kama beating up a Creature of the Night on Superstars is shown.  The Undertaker’s battle with Tatanka is seen as the first opportunity for the Undertaker to get revenge for the attack.  The Undertaker pledges to take Tatanka out to send a message to the Million Dollar Corporation and Kama.

–Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler are tonight’s commentary team and they are concluding the brief tapings in Worcester, Massachusetts.  This is the “go home” show for SummerSlam and it the last to feature the old RAW opening that has been a staple for more than a year since the company would have a new one when they returned after the U.S. Open.

–Footage of the end of RAW where Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels had an altercation after Ramon saved Michaels from a beatdown at the hands of Sid.

–Vince McMahon and Dok Hendrix are doing commentary and they are kicking off a new set of tapings in Portland, Maine.  According to the historyofwwe.com the tapings drew a crowd of 4,683 fans.
