Happy Friday Everyone!

We’ve got a notable ROH show today with Showdown in the Sun, a two day event held over WrestleMania Weekend in 2012. Davey Richards vs Michael Elgin is the match most might have heard of when it comes to Night Two, but let’s see how the rest of the card shapes up as I haven’t seen the show itself since way back in 2012 when it happened. Sadly technical issues plagued the original broadcast (and quite a few of ROH’s other forays into Internet Pay Per View at the time) so some matches are missing here but we’ll cover that further down in the review itself.

We’ve got some ROH for you today, with War Of The Wire 2003. As the name would suggest; we’ve got a barbed wire match to close things out here, as Steve Corino and Homicide take their brutal feud to the next level. Elsewhere, we’ve got Samoa Joe taking on AJ Styles and John Walters grappling with Xavier, so we should have a good mixture of bloody violence and slick wrestling.

Indeed, according to the ThROH The Years podcast, the promised violence of the Main Event caused ROH to have to move the show twice when a local promoter kept grassing them up. Eventually local wrestler John Walters managed to secure a venue so that War Of The Wire was ultimately able to go ahead.

Welcome to yet another ROH Wednesday!

This will be the last review of the classic ROH shows I do, at least for a while anyway. I’ve no idea what will be in it’s place next week but I guess we’ll find out then. I’ve enjoyed these but I’ve been reviewing them for a while now and I fancy freshening things up a bit. We might pick them up again down the line sometime

This week we’ve got a Scramble Cage, a Four Corner Survival and a match between AJ Styles and Bryan Danielson to look forward to, so hold on to yer butts!

This week we’ve got a pretty famous show from ROH’s early years, mainly because it features Teddy Hart getting himself over like rover only to blow it for himself. That’ll come next week though, whilst this week we’ve got some Field of Honour and the continuation of the Xavier Vs John Walters feud that I personally enjoy so much, before Homicide and BJ Whitmer close us out in a hard hitting scuffle.

This time we’ve got the first part of Glory By Honour II, an event that got a lot of hype at the time due to the quality of some of the matches and the star power involved, with Terry Funk actually making an appearance next week. This week we’ve got Steve Corino Vs Raven, in a match I don’t think ever really happened in ECW despite them both passing through there. I think by the time they were actually booking Corino as a credible threat to the top guys Raven had already left to go to the WWF. They might have had some smaller matches back when Corino was doing his Jericho Light gimmick and managing Rhino, but it was pretty much just tags for them whilst they were still in the company together I think.

Today we’ve got CM Punk and Raven in a cage, along with Trent Acid Vs Homicide and a four corners match with Samoa Joe.

The big match on this half of the show is going to be the continuation of the Special K and Carnage Crew feud, whilst the Main Event next week will be CM Punk Vs Raven in a cage.

The big match on this half of the show will likely be Matt Stryker and BJ Whitmer going at it, as Stryker got a big win on the previous show against Justin Credible whilst Whitmer had a darn fine World Title match with Samoa Joe. There’s also a match scheduled between Christopher Daniels and Xavier, as The Prophecy EXPLODES!

This week we close out Wrath of the Racket, with the Main Event scheduled to be AJ Styles and The Amazing Red defending the ROH Tag Titles against Christopher Daniels and Dan Maff, with Samoa Joe defending the ROH World Title against BJ Whitmer in the Semi-Main slot.

This time we’ve got ROH coming from Dayton, with the big draw being an appearance from Jim Cornette, hence the show name. Blog poster Jeff Gorman is apparently doing the ring announcing on this one too, so there’s even a BOD tie in. What more could you ask for?!

This was actually a pretty darn big show for ROH crowd attendance wise due to them bringing in Jeff Hardy not that far removed from him leaving WWE earlier in 2003. There are also some big matches on the card featuring the likes of Raven, CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Paul London, AJ Styles and Low Ki, so it’s a pretty stacked card.

Today we finish off Wrestlerave, with the Main Event scheduled to be Homicide taking on Trent Acid, whilst Christopher Daniels and Raven team up to face CM Punk and Colt Cabana on the undercard.

Welcome to another ROH Wednesday, as we tackle the next show from our 2003 retrospective in the form of Wrestlerave. We’ll split this into two parts again, so we’ll go on till intermission and then pick up the concluding part next week.
