WWE ID Championship Tournament

So this is a weird thing as WWE is partnering with GCW for the first batch of matches in the tournaments to crown the first ever ID Champions. We’re getting matches in the men’s and women’s tournaments, plus some bonus matches to round out the card. One of these matches features former Bayley super fan Izzy, which is going to be absolutely bizarre to see. Let’s get to it.

Best Of Reality Of Wrestling

The title kind of says it all here as we have a DVD collection of matches from Booker T.’s promotion in Texas. This is from a bunch of different shows so there is nothing in the way of continuity here. I’ve only seen a bit from this promotion before so I’m going in blind, which can often be fun. Let’s get to it.

So this is Rocky Mountain Pro Wrestling, which is the promotion written by Vince Russo. That alone got me interested in seeing what kind of a train wreck this probably is so we’ll take a look. From what I can tell, this is where he started writing and producing the show so it’s his original, fresh set of ideas. Let’s get to it.

HCW Wild #5

So what we have here is Hungarian Championship Wrestling and yes that is all I know about it. I saw the name on a random Youtube video and that’s good enough for me to put it on the list. I have absolutely no idea what to expect here and it seems that this is a regular show from the promotion. Let’s get to it.

Forged In Excellence Night One

So this is Maple Leaf Pro, the new promotion from former TNA executive Scott D’Amore. The card has been built up well over the last few weeks and I might as well look at the first two nights. As you might expect, there will be a heavy Canadian influence on the show, but there are some outsiders as well. Let’s get to it.

It’s Wrestlemania Weekend in Philadelphia so you knew something like this was coming. The show is exactly what it sounds like as Battleground Championship Wrestling (local indy) is presenting a special night for ECW. There are various ECW wrestlers on the show and the Dudleys are going into the arena’s Hall Of Fame, which should be special. Let’s get to it.

It’s back to the ECW Arena for Battleground Championship Wrestling, a local promotion which doesn’t seem to be the most well received. We’ll actually be looking at a pair of shows from them on the same day, with one of them being a bit different. This is their regular show and I have no idea what to expect here so let’s get to it.

ETU vs. Dragon Gate: Unlock The Unexpected

This is Expect The Unexpected vs. Dragon Gate as we’re rounding the home stretch for Wrestlemania Weekend. I don’t know anything about ETU but I don’t think I’m supposed to as that would make them expected. This show could be just about anything, though Dragon Gate has been all over the place this weekend so they’re almost familiar at this point. Let’s get to it.

GCW/JCW vs. The World

As tends to be the case over Wrestlemania Weekend, we have some promotions going to battle for one night. In this case it’s GCW and it’s secondary promotion JCW vs….well everyone else. That could make for quite the series of options, but odds are it’s just anyone who happens to be in town for the weekend. Let’s get to it.

Wrestling Revolver X House Of Glory

So we have another competing show here, with Wrestling Revolver vs. House Of Glory. I’ve seen a bit from both promotions and those looks have been positive, so this has me interested. Shows like this can be very hit or miss and it’s likely all going to be about the action, which could work rather well. Let’s get to it.

GCW vs. TJPW

We have Game Changer Wrestling vs. Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, meaning it’s a women’s show. It’s another promotional war show, though this one seems to be a bit less intense than the others. I’ve liked the stuff I’ve seen from TJPW over the years, including this weekend, so hopefully they can continue their streak. Let’s get to it.

Joey Janela’s Spring Break: Cluster**** Forever

This is the second half of Spring Break, with a two match card. Naturally this includes a Punjabi Prison match, but the big draw is the Cluster**** Battle Royal, which is only a match with actual structure in the loosest of terms. There will probably be more than fifty entrants with loosely timed intervals, but the real fun is seeing who shows up. Let’s get to it.

TJPW Live In Philly

This is Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, a women’s promotion based in Japan. As you might be able to guess, we’re in Philadelphia over Wrestlemania Weekend and that means we’re probably in for a bunch of guest stars. I remember liking the show from last year’s Wrestlemania Weekend so hopefully they can do it again here. Let’s get to it.

DDT Goes Philadelphia

So last year, DDT put on a show that had good moments, but it also had more than a few things that made me want to throw my TV through the wall. I’ve seen enough DDT to know that it can be better though so I’ll give it another chance here. There is always the chance that is a terrible idea but let’s get to it.

Progress Chapter 166: Freedom Walks Again

So this is the British Progress Wrestling promotion, which isn’t quite what it used to be but it’s still a big enough deal to warrant a Wrestlemania weekend spot. There are some familiar names around here but there will also likely be some guest stars, as tends to be the case over the weekend. Let’s get to it.

WrestleCon Supershow 2024

It’s one of the biggest independent events of Wrestlemania Weekend and as usual, the card is rather stacked. You will regularly get some rather nice surprises to boost up what is already advertised and that makes it a lot more fun. This time around most of the card has been advertised in advance to change it up a bit. Let’s get to it.

For The Culture 2024

This has become a tradition from GCW over Wrestlemania Weekend and the shows tend to be pretty good more often than not. The show focuses on Black wrestlers and there is quite a bit of talent on the card. GCW can do rather well when they try and hopefully that is the case again here. Let’s get to it.

Can’t Deny It

This is from Defy Wrestling and that’s not a promotion I know very well. I’ve seen a bit from them before and I do remember liking them so there might be something worth seeing here. The main event will see Kenta defend the World Title against Gringo Loco, which should at least be good. Let’s get to it.

Joey Janela’s Spring Break 8

This is one of the bigger independent shows of Wrestlemania Weekend and the biggest GCW show as well. The main event if Joey Janela himself challenging the rather unpopular Black Christian for the GCW World Title. As usual this show could be all over the place and that makes it more fun. American Dream 2024 In The Keystone State

So this is from Stardom, the Japanese women’s promotion, who are in town for Wrestlemania Weekend. I was in town for the weekend and since I’m not likely to ever see something like this again in person, it was worth a look. I’m not sure what to expect from this and that’s part of the fun.
