Now that WrestleMania has happened, the slate of pay-per-views are starting to build for WWF. Our first non-Mania big show is The Wrestling Classic, a pay-per-view broadcast from Chicago. Vince McMahon promised the most prestigious tournament in wrestling and we ended up with this sixteen-man tournament that stretched across the show. I see such high-caliber names as Corporal Kirchner and Moondog Spot on the lineup, so surely we’re in for good times.

Let’s take a look back at this little-known indy show from 1985. This was presented on closed captioned television and broadcast from Madison Square Garden, an arena that in its future would host political conventions, dog shows, award shows, a wedding for a pop star, and a basketball championship series haunted by a tooth-collecting very nice, very evil wrestler.
