Evening Daily News Update: July 18, 2026 – Saturday Night’s Main Event Edition

Happy Saturday, Doomsters! We have a lot of wrestling on our plate tonight.

WWE presents Saturday Night’s Main Event at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock in the U.S. and YouTube internationally. Broadcasting live from Madison Square Gardenhausen, the event features at least one New York Knick. Cody Rhodes and CM Punk try to see if they can co-exist as they battle Gunther and Sami Zayn, with Gunther and Zayn added to the SummerSlam match if they win. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella & Paige defend against Lainey Reid & Fallon Henley. Danhausen tries to get his Knicks jersey back in a no disqualification match against JD McDonagh and Bayley faces off with Lyra Valkyria. There’s also a preshow match at 7:30 on YouTube with Trick Williams against Laredo Kid. I’m in the reviewer’s seat for this one and hope to have it up shortly after the show.

Immediately after that, WWE also presents Lucha Libre AAA on YouTube. We don’t know much about it, but there will be a four-way #1 contender’s match for the Latin American Championship. Rey Mysterio has some things to say and we’ll also hear from Perros Del Mar. Niz will have your review up on that.

AEW presents Collision at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and HBO Max. Collision has a triple dose of title matches, including TNT Champion Kevin Knight defending against AR Fox. TBS Champion Hikaru Shida puts her gold on the line against Queen Aminata and ROH World Champion Bandito defends against Adam Priest. ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will be in action, Mercedes Mone will share some thoughts, and we have several other “in action” matches to fill the two hours. Niz will also have a review of that to come.

Speaking of Niz, check out his SmackDown review. There’s a lot happening on SmackDown and a lot of it is questionable.
