Ludwig Kaiser Claims Self-Defense
Marcel Barthel, who wrestles in WWE as El Grande Americano and Ludwig Kaiser, is seeking to have his battery charge dismissed by claiming self-defence under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Barthel has pleaded not guilty, with his legal team arguing he was legally justified in his actions and requesting security footage from the apartment complex to support his case. The alleged victim, Richard Reap, claims Barthel assaulted him after he criticised Barthel and a woman in an elevator. Barthel, however, alleges Reap made offensive remarks about his girlfriend, Andrea Bazarte, including a threat to “call ICE,” and maintains he did not attack Reap, even after Reap allegedly threw a bottle at him.
Top AEW Star May Be Taking Some Time Off
Fightful Select has reported that MJF could be taking a break from AEW television following his AEW World Championship loss to Kenny Omega at Beach Break. While nothing has been confirmed and no timeframe has been given, sources indicated he may not appear at AEW Redemption later this month. Despite the potential absence, MJF is still expected to have a role at AEW All In, although details remain unclear. The report follows Omega’s title win, with previous reports indicating MJF pushed for the championship match to be moved from Redemption to Dynamite, while Omega’s title victory had reportedly been planned for several months.

Kenny Omega to defend World title at AEW Redemption
Kenny Omega will make his first defence of the AEW World Championship at AEW Redemption on July 26, facing TNT Champion Kevin Knight in Canada. Knight earned the opportunity after MJF promised him a title shot for helping his team at Forbidden Door and challenged Omega during this week’s Dynamite following the champion’s in-ring segment with Will Ospreay. It will be the first singles meeting between Omega and Knight, with Omega entering the match after defeating MJF to begin his second AEW World Championship reign.
