Two Talents Gone from AEW After Contracts Expire

The Butcher and The Blade have officially departed AEW after their contracts expired and were not renewed by the company. The veteran tag team, which debuted in AEW in November 2019, became one of the promotion’s most recognisable early acts but had seen its presence diminish in recent years, largely due to Blade’s serious spinal injury. The duo had not teamed together on AEW television since January 2024, with Blade undergoing spinal fusion surgery in September 2024 before returning to the ring in December 2025.

AEW Reportedly Hoping Legitimate MJF Injury Suffered On Dynamite Isn’t Serious

AEW World Champion MJF has reportedly suffered a legitimate knee injury following his title defence against Rush on the June 3 episode of Dynamite. During the match, MJF hyperextended his knee and has since been pulled from a scheduled independent wrestling appearance against Bobby Orlando for Beyond Wrestling, as he was not medically cleared to travel or compete. While the injury is said to be real, Bryan Alvarez reported that there is hope it is not serious.

Braun Strowman Lays Out Condition For WWE Return

Former WWE star Braun Strowman has indicated he would be open to returning to WWE, but only if the financial offer is significant enough. Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Strowman said he would consider another run if WWE were willing to “back that Brinks truck up,” joking that he would gladly return to face rising star Oba Femi for the right price. Despite the playful challenge, Strowman praised Femi’s talent and potential, suggesting that a future match could be a major moneymaker.

The Great Kasaki Passes Away

Canadian independent wrestling veteran The Great Kasaki has passed away at the age of 48. The news was announced by All Star Wrestling, which paid tribute to Kasaki, whose real name was Anthony, describing him as a creative performer, mentor, and respected figure within the promotion. Kasaki began his wrestling career in 2005 and spent much of it competing on the Canadian independent scene, with his last documented match taking place in 2023. All Star Wrestling extended its condolences to his family and friends, remembering him as an ASW legend whose contributions to the promotion will not be forgotten.
