By Conor Renshaw on 4 June 2026

Good morning all!

It’s Thursday, and it’s time for the Morning Daily News Update!

We’ve got a bunch of new blog posts from yesterday to take a look at:

Alex Podgorski has a new 5-Star BOOK Review
Jabroniville uploaded a new Dream Matches post
LScisco posted a new WTWWW for WWF Superstars from February 17, 1996
Phrederic reviewed last night’s episode of WWE Evolve

Mercedes Mone Returns To AEW In Women’s Owen Hart Tourney Wild Card Slot

Mercedes Mone made her AEW return on the June 3 episode of Dynamite after a five-month absence, revealing herself as the Wild Card entrant in the 2026 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The former tournament winner defeated Alex Windsor in a competitive first-round match, overcoming a strong challenge before forcing Windsor to submit with the Statement Maker. Mone remained aggressive after the bell, refusing to release the hold immediately. With the victory, she advances to the tournament semi-finals, where she will face the winner of the match between Persephone and Hazuki on AEW Collision.

New Update Emerges On Adam Cole’s Recovery Amid AEW Absence

Adam Cole is reportedly making progress in his recovery from the concussion-related issues that have kept him off AEW television, according to an update from longtime friends Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson. Speaking on a Being The Elite livestream, Matt said Cole is taking his recovery “day by day” and has been showing signs of improvement, and he encouraged fans to keep him in their thoughts. Cole has been sidelined since suffering a serious concussion ahead of a planned TNT Championship match with Kyle Fletcher.

Logan Paul Admits He Owes CM Punk An Apology After Suffering Same Triceps Injury

Logan Paul has admitted he owes CM Punk an apology after suffering a torn triceps injury similar to the one he previously mocked Punk for. Speaking on his IMPAULSIVE podcast, Paul revealed he once questioned how a triceps injury could sideline someone for six months, but now understands the severity after tearing his own triceps off the bone during a recent WWE match. The injury required surgery and is expected to keep him out for around six months.

WWE Quietly Retires An NXT Championship

WWE has quietly retired the NXT Heritage Cup Championship after removing it from the title listings on its official roster page. The championship had not appeared on NXT television since July 2025, when Tony D’Angelo famously threw the trophy off a bridge as part of a storyline. Originally introduced for NXT UK in 2020, the Heritage Cup was held by stars including Tyler Bate, Noam Dar, Nathan Frazer and Lexis King. Dar holds the record for the longest reign at 341 days. Although the title now appears to be officially inactive, Channing Lorenzo remains the final recognised champion after winning the Heritage Cup in June 2025.
