Former WWE Star Made His AEW Debut Before Dynamite
Bishop Dyer, formerly known as Baron Corbin in WWE, competed in an AEW ring for the first time ahead of last night’s live episode of AEW Dynamite. Dyer worked an eight-man tag team dark match, teaming with Martin Stone and Better Together against Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, Brady Booker and Elijah Drago. The bout ended with a win for the team featuring the Gunns, Booker and Drago.
Another NJPW Star Could Be WWE-Bound
EVIL is reportedly nearing the end of his time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with strong rumours suggesting a move to WWE. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez said EVIL may be on his way out of NJPW after recently dropping the NEVER Openweight Championship to Aaron Wolf at Wrestling Kingdom 20.
Taz returns to broadcast booth on AEW Dynamite
Taz returned to AEW commentary on last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Orlando, marking his first appearance since undergoing shoulder surgery last October. The longtime broadcaster had been away following a knee replacement in 2024, with Bryan Danielson filling in during his absence. Taz has been a fixture in AEW since 2019 and was inducted into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame last summer.
Bobby Duncum Sr. has died at the age of 81, WWE announced yesterday. Duncum was a feared territory era villain, known for his brutal brawling style and battles with legends such as Bruno Sammartino and Bob Backlund, and was also a member of the iconic Heenan Family in the AWA. His son, Bobby Duncum Jr., a former WCW performer, died in 2000 at the age of 34.
