What the World Was Watching: WWF Superstars – 04.02.94
By LScisco on 25 July 2025
Vince McMahon and Johnny Polo are commentating the show, the last of the taping in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Opening Non-Title Contest: Razor Ramon (Intercontinental Champion) (8-0) pins Steve Smith after the Razor’s Edge at 3:19:
Ramon messes with Polo’s hat on the way to the ring, prompting Polo to threaten a lawsuit and leave the commentary position. That allows Jerry Lawler to resume his color commentary duties as Ramon spends a long time working the arm during the squash, making it a less than ideal match to open the show.

After showing footage of the end of the Yokozuna-Lex Luger WWF title match at WrestleMania, McMahon hypes an appearance by Luger and Mr. Perfect on Monday Night RAW.
Crush (w/Mr. Fuji) (8-1) pins Tom Alton after a stun gun at 1:50:
Chris Williams is the guest fan ring announcer and does a good job for a young kid. Alton manages to take Crush to the buckle a few times before running into a chokeslam. As Crush works over the enhancement talent McMahon and Lawler discuss how Men on a Mission won the Tag Team titles on a recent European tour and held them for two days. Contrary to popular belief this was a planned title change and did not happen because Pierre was unable or forgot to kick out of a Mabel splash. It continues a pattern of the Tag Team titles changing on house shows as the belts have been switched that way seven times since 1992. After a stun gun from a gorilla press position, Crush notches his second win since WrestleMania.
Live Event News shows an interview WWF Champion Bret Hart had with the media after WrestleMania. He says that he wants another match with his brother and that Owen can only beat him once.
Thurman Plugg (7-0-1) beats Jeff Jarrett (10-1) after a clothesline at 8:46:
Lawler makes a funny statement about how Polo is probably in intensive care because of what Razor Ramon did to him earlier. Since McMahon loves to refer to Plugg as “Sparky” it makes Plugg come off as a child. After some less than stellar action, Jarrett covers Plugg after a dropkick and gets a three count but Plugg’s foot is below the bottom rope so referee Earl Hebner orders that the match continue. Plugg scores some close near-falls on the restart, pinning Jarrett after a clothesline even though Jarrett’s foot is on the bottom rope. Hebner does not see that, though, so the outcome of the match stands. Jarrett complains but the crowd does not care, just like they did not care about the match. Rating: *½
Jarrett does a sit-down strike in the middle of the ring. Polo comes out and concurs with Jarrett’s outrage. Jarrett demands a rematch as Doink the Clown and Dink come to the ring since they have the next match. Jarrett keeps them at bay with a chair until Plugg returns to the ring and puts Jarrett in an O’Connor roll as Doink counts an unofficial pin.
Doink the Clown (w/Dink) (10-0) pins Mike Bell after the Whoopie Cushion at 3:16:
Dink squirts water in Bell’s face before the bell and then Bell trips over himself chasing after him. Lawler has left commentary to protest Jarrett’s loss with WWF President Jack Tunney so Polo is back in the booth. This squash is much better than Doink’s last outing on Monday Night RAW as Bell goes toe-to-toe with him, scoring two pin attempts from a clothesline and leg drop. Doink comes back with his amateur wrestling and Bell gets set up for the Whoopie Cushion after his blind charge runs into Doink’s boot.
Bam Bam Bigelow (w/Luna Vachon) (9-2) pins John Paul after a powerslam at 1:21:
Bigelow is done clowning around so it will be interesting to see what his next feud will be. It might be Nikolai Volkoff as he argues with him before the match. Polo wonders if Paul is the Pope and then throws out a Paul McCartney joke. He also alleges that Volkoff is trying to copy his facial hair. McMahon floats the idea of Vachon going for the WWF Women’s Championship after Bigelow secures a quick win with a powerslam.
McMahon announces that Thurman Plugg has accepted Jeff Jarrett’s challenge for a rematch next week.
As Bam Bam Bigelow walks to the back, Earthquake crosses his path. The two have a brief staredown, a callback to how they had a match last year.
Earthquake (9-0) defeats Reno Riggins after the Earthquake Splash at 3:43:
Polo insists that Jeff Jarrett getting a match against Thurman Plugg next week shows the power that Lawler has in the company. Earthquake uses this as a tune up for his rematch against Adam Bomb on RAW, toying with Riggins before flattening him with the Earthquake Splash.
Jarrett comes by the announce table to complain about his treatment in the WWF. He promises to pin Thurman Plugg a second time next week. There is a funny argument over the microphone between Jarrett and McMahon to end the show.
Tune in next week to see Thurman Plugg face Jeff Jarrett!
The Last Word: Hopefully Thurman Plugg and Jeff Jarrett have a better match next week than what what they did today. Regardless of that match it seems like Jarrett is headed for a midcard feud with Doink, who is trending down after losing his feud with Bam Bam Bigelow. Luna Vachon against Alundra Blayze sounds interesting for the Women’s title. At least Vachon is an established character rather by “fly by night” challengers such as Heidi Lee Morgan and Leilani Kai.
