RIP Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea (1953-2025)

Good evening, Doomers. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and can express themselves as they feel, especially with someone who became quite a controversial figure in recent years (using racial slurs, admitting to be “kinda racist”, then offering the most half-assed apology in history would do the trick in this situation). Hulk’s passing brings on mixed emotions. He was my childhood hero and over the years, his reputation in the public eye kept taking hit after hit, self-inflicted shots. Sure, we laugh off the tall tales of slamming the 1300 pound Andre the Giant 3 days before his death, or turning down Metallica, or missing the phone call to lend his name to what became the George Foreman grill, but it was the racially charged ignorance that struck the hardest note. As sad as I am thinking of the memories of an entertainer, it’s hard to shed a tear knowing he accepted the public’s perception of him, and went about his business like there wasn’t anything wrong. It’s a shame that his final appearance for a live audience was the disaster at the Raw Netflix premiere. Here was a man who would receive 10-minute standing ovations, just standing in the ring, and now he’s getting booed off the stage, but the shame isn’t “he didn’t deserve it”, it was because he chose that path, and poor Jimmy Hart took the heat for it (KIDDING. MAYBE).

Tonight, we’ve got TNA Impact, and it’s still available on YouTube for people who don’t trust the reliability of their own streaming service (it’s hit and miss for me, and I have no issues with any of the dozen or so services I use). Joe Hendry takes on Mike Santana, The Elegance Brand meets The IInspiration and an unnamed partner, Jake Something faces Mance Warner in a No DQ Match, and we’ll hear from TNA Knockouts and NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne, as well as TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. Oh, and Ring of Honor on WatchROH.com. It’s where all the excitement is…. no, I refuse to use an exclamation point.

Sonic covers this week’s episode of WWE Evolve, Phrederic dives into some Marigold with their July 16th card, and Megabucks has a re-visit of GWF Supercard from 1992 and the November ’87 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
