Evening Daily News Update

Good evening, Doomers. It’s Thursday, which means the work week is almost over and good God, do I need the weekend to catch up on stuff… also, PLENTY O’ WRESTLING TONIGHT. TNA Impact! AEW Collision! ROH TV! There’s something for everyone! If you’re curious, Collision is taking place tonight because of the PPV this Sunday…. Oh, sorry, I mean Saturday. I shouldn’t have listened too closely to Mercedes Mone’s promo last night. TNA Impact is available on their YouTube channel for the month of July, and ROH TV is our “go-home” episode for Supercard of Honor.

If you haven’t checked it out, Kat’s “Evolving Through Life With Women’s Wrestling” takes us on a journey through the history of women in wrestling and their overall presentation, some of which is uncomfortable to look back on (and was equally uncomfortable in the live moment) and the years it took for the women to get a fair shake at being regularly featured on the show without the label of simply being “the diva’s segment.”

Sonic covered last night’s WWE Evolve and Megabucks brings more Tooned In with the Superfriends Crafts and Magic. We should expect some Impact and ROH recaps later tonight.

NXT Heatwave Date Locked In
The PLE featuring the stars of NXT is set to take place on August 24th in South Carolina, which happens to be the same day as AEW’s Forbidden Door PPV, taking place in London, England. Don’t make me say it again about the “split” audience myth.

Gail Kim Responds to TNA President’s Comments
Recently, TNA President Carlos Silva was quoted saying that letting Gail Kim go was one of the toughest decisions to make, and done to reinvigorate the Knockouts Division.

In summer 2013, AJ Lee asserted herself as the face of WWE’s Divas division. Watch Lee battle the likes of Kaitlyn, the Bella Twins and Naomi en route to a historic 295-day reign. (For whatever reason, WWE Vault added Evolution yesterday, then this morning, one of the matches from the show. Could we not drop that terrible “Women of the WWF” Coliseum Video that’s 90% a love-letter to Moolah? Oh, never mind.

We’ve got some Banana Ball tonight, but I don’t think it’s from a Major League Stadium, and I’ve FINALLY unlocked Pianta in Mario Kart World. I think there’s 3 more characters to unlock via Kamek orb (which is STILL a dumb way to unlock things). As always, keep it clean and come out dooming. – GH
