ROH TV Episode 120 – June 12th, 2025

By Garth Holmberg on 12 June 2025

ROH TV Episode 120 – June 12th, 2025

Welcome back to Ring of Honor TV, exclusively on Honor Club at WatchROH.com. Last week on Episode 119, Thunder Rosa and Persephone defeated Leila Grey and Dulce Tormenta, The Frat House’s Griff Garrison and Cole Karter defeated Dale Springs and Braxton Hunter, Wheeler Yuta pinned Aaron Solo (STILL THERE), and Athena pinned Rachel Armstrong in a Proving Ground Match. We also teased something between Athena and Thunder Rosa and Dalton Castle is on his way back to ROH. Supercard of Honor is scheduled for July 11th and… well, we’ve got plenty of time to get that card together.

Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman are calling the action, unless otherwise noted. If this is your first time reading my ROH recaps, I don’t bother with star ratings. I use the thumbs up and down system for segments. More thumbs up for the really good stuff, more thumbs down for the really bad stuff. Match is meh but there’s some zany antics? Good enough for me. If you want star ratings, you’ll need to wait until I pick up the option on reviewing Collision.

Shane Taylor Promotions opens with a promo that doesn’t really target anyone specifically. I guess you could say they are putting the locker room on notice. They’ll be in action TONIGHT, and with opponents unnamed, the lack of names dropped in the promo makes sense now.

Templario & Atlantis Jr vs. Volador Jr & Magnus:
I feel like I’m going to say this a lot as time passes, but this feels like a match to get the luchadores some work, and we’ll see combinations of them in more tag team matches down the road. Riccaboni talks about Volador’s history in Ring of Honor and unsuccessful pursuit of the ROH Championship. Volador does not adhere to the code of honor, starting with Templario. They open hot with leg sweeps and head-scissors, with Templario showing off a spin-a-rooni as we return to a neutral stance. Atlantis Jr and Magnus in. Volador takes a cheap shot at Atlantis and it’s a 2-on-1 beatdown. Atlantis reverses a whip to the corner and takes Mangus down with a flying hurricanrana. Volador gets sent to the floor and gets out of dodge before Atlantis can follow up with a dive. Templario clears out another attempt at a 2-on-1 attack and Atlantis busts out the tope con hilo on Magnus. Templario with a snap powerslam on Volador, followed by a rope-walk missile dropkick for a two-count.

Magnus wipes out Atlantis on the apron and hits Templario with the “swinging kick” (6-1-9). The rudos run the train in the corner with clotheslines but Templario saves. AEW/ROH referees really let the luchadores do whatever they want regardless of tag team rules (and I don’t mean the swapping in for ring outs). Atlantis back in and Magnus immediately cuts him off with a flurry of strikes. He goes for the mask of the former TV Champion and briefly pulls it away before putting it back on and playing to the crowd. Atlantis with a fired up comeback, hitting spinning back breakers on both opponents. Templario with a pop-up dropkick to send Volador out of the ring. Atlantis with a powerslam on Magnus, and the frog splash finishes at 7:55. I wouldn’t call it great, I wouldn’t call it bad. There’s some character work that I enjoyed, and some felt like they were there going through the motions. Thumbs Up, ever-so-slightly.

Highlights from last month when Preston Vance helped Garrison and Carter defeat the Dark Order.

Evil Uno (w/ Alex Reynolds) vs. Preston Vance (w/ The Frat House):
Wow, I was surprised this match had a reason to take place, and I guess we can credit the Frat House for John Silver’s absence. We’re reminded of Vance turning his back on the Dark Order, but not the details of the turn. No code of honor as they trade forearms to kick things off. Uno unloads with chops and a knee across the back of the neck, sending Vance to the outside. Reynolds cuts him off and feeds him back to Uno for more punishment. Whip to the ropes and Vance powders again, this time in friendly territory. Uno DOES NOT GIVE A F*CK, and goes after Vance in enemy territory. Garrison hooks the ankle of Uno, buying Vance time to pop him across the face with a big boot. Vance with some mud-hole stomps in the corner, mocking the Dark Order pose for the hard camera. Vance with a slam, middle finger, and elbow drop but Uno kicks out at one. Uno throws more forearms and busts out a cutter, sending Vance staggering into the corner. Vance avoids an avalanche and locks in a Full Nelson! Uno’s arm drops twice but not thrice and breaks free!

Vance misses an avalanche this time and Uno builds some momentum, capping it off with a neck breaker. Karter hops on the apron and the distraction doesn’t pay off as Uno unleashes 10 mounted punches. Uno with a big boot and DDT for two. Vance counters a piledriver attempt and hits a sit-out fireman buster for a near-fall. Uno ducks the discus lariat and spikes Vance with a piledriver. Uno pays tribute to Mr. Brodie Lee and hits the discus lariat himself, but Jacked Jameson jumps on the apron to distract the referee! Reynolds takes him out, then Garrison takes out Reynolds. Meanwhile, Vance has the polo paddle, whacks Uno with it, and steals the victory at 6:44. Post-match, the Frat House jump all over Uno and Reynolds, but JOHN SILVER is back and he wipes out the nameless pledges as the Frat House runs away. This was a heck of a lot of fun, and I would call it a damn fine wrestling match. 2 Thumbs Up.

ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet cuts an arrogant promo, hyping herself up as the longest reigning TV Champion, and mentions she’ll be working CMLL dates all next week. “A good recipe has a secret ingredient, and that’s me.”

Red Velvet vs. Harleen Lopez:
Standard non-title rules here, so no incentive for Lopez. Velvet is 8-0 in 2025 and is likely to improve that record and we’re told that Lopez was trained by the legendary Cheeseburger. Code of honor adhered to (with a little bit of sass from Velvet), and the lights are way down low for this one. We go International, with Lopez showboating. The celebration is premature, as Velvet cuts her off with a jumping heel kick and goes to work in the corner. Lopez with a thrust to the chest and a butterfly suplex. Another quick cut-off from Velvet as Riccaboni notes she’s going to wrestle Persephone next week in CMLL. Lopez hits the ropes way too slow on these Irish whip spots. Velvet with the snap-over face-buster for the finish at 2:40. This wasn’t much to speak of, and the few times Lopez ran the ropes just made me wish people wouldn’t do them so much when they have zero bursts of motion on them. Thumbs Down.

Hype package for ROH TV Champion Nick Wayne, including highlights from the Best of the Super Jr’s. Jesus, how many titles are part of the ROH brand?!

The Dark Order is standing by and they are complete again (at least the trio version). The Meat Man is back baby! AMERICAN MADE MEAT! Uno calls the Frat House metaphorical thorns in their sides. They run down the Frat House one by one until we get to Griff Garrison. “Who the F*CK is Griff Garrison?!” makes this an all-time awesome promo. The challenge is made, any three of the Frat House versus the Dark Order. Possibly for Supercard of Honor?

Shane Taylor Promotions (with Trish Adora) vs. Vaughn Vertigo, Martian Webb, Riley Reinhart, and Joe Demaro:
OK, so STP is represented by Shane Taylor (obviously), ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty, and the Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean). I honestly don’t know how to describe any of the enhancement talent other than “these guys look like total geeks that will never reach higher than enhancement scrub.” Dean starts with Webb. The poor soul is caught in the STP corner and punished, including getting trapped in a tree of woe and hit with a double basement dropkick. Reinhart tags in and is MDK’d with a big boot from Bravo. The Infantry have fun beating the tar out of Reinhart. Taylor in next, hushing the crowd and popping Reinhart across the chest with open-hand strikes. Moriarty boots Vertigo out of the air with a boot, and now Demaro is last to get his chance to get slaughtered. Taylor offers a free shot and is barely phased. He blasts Demaro on the chest with a headbutt, plants him with a uranage and comes off the ropes with a splash, with the match continuing thanks to Webb and Reinhart breaking the cover. The Infantry take them out on the floor and Moriarty finishes Demaro with the Border City Stretch at 5:03. This was the definition of time filling squash, with little to get excited about, and nothing being bad enough to chew on. Thumbs in the Middle.

Proving Ground Match: Bandido vs. Mansoor (w/ MxM TV):
10-Minute Time Limit. If Mansoor wins or goes the distance, he earns himself a Championship Match. He’s got quite the entourage, with Mason Madden, Johnny TV, and Taya Valkyrie with him. Bandido has reigned as ROH Champion since April 6th, having won the title from Chris Jericho. Bandido shakes Mansoor’s extended index finger in a hilarious take on the code of honor. Mansoor with some Don Flamenco style hotdogging, which is a pretty smart thing to do when the time limit is so short and it’s a good waste of time. They trade shoulder blocks, with Bandido getting the better of the exchange. Mason Madden pulls Mansoor to safety then holds Bandido in place on a tope attempt, allowing Mansoor to hit a senton across the back. Riccaboni explains that since Mason was defending himself, it wasn’t cause for DQ.

After a quick mugging from MxM TV, Mansoor sends Bandido back in the ring for a near-fall. Mansoor keeps working the back and spamming the taunt trigger. Bandido pops him on the chin with a Super-Kick and comes off the top with a corkscrew press. Mansoor blocks a suplex and plays to the crowd again, allowing Bandido to catch him off the ropes with a press slam. Bandido with a frog splash for two. MxM Entourage with another play, allowing Mansoor to hit a sit-out butterfly drop for two. Aubrey catches the MxM TV and ejects them with Enrico Palazzo enthusiasm. Mansoor with a back stabber but a moonsault misses the mark. X marks the spot for Bandido and the 21-plex finishes Mansoor at 7:20. Post-match, Big Shotty Lee Johnson approaches the ring, allowing Blake Christian to get the jump on Bandido. GOTTA GET HEAT FOR VANILLA BABY. Mascara Dorada clears them out and has eyes for Bandido’s ROH Championship. Really fun stuff, though if you’re really against comedy, this match won’t be your jam. MxM TV and Mansoor are almost all about comedy, though they had some good-looking, serious spots as well. 2 Thumbs Up.

Final Thoughts: Probably my favorite episode since jumping into ROH, with Bandido vs. Mansoor and Uno vs Preston Vance making me forget the purgatory that is Honor Club TV. I don’t ask for much with the less-important shows (this goes back as far as the days of Shotgun for me as a WWF fan), so while I know not to expect 15-20 minute bangers, I do find enjoyment out of 7-8 minute matches that go hard with their limited time allotted. With that said, not a perfect show, with a couple of squashes in the middle that did nothing for me, and you might not like Atlantis Jr, but the good far outweighed the bad for me, and if nothing else, give those two matches a look (a recommendation made easier if 99% of matches weren’t behind a paywall).
