Evening Daily News Update – September 5, 2026

Good evening, Doomsters! Saturday night has rolled around again and, I’m told, it is alright for fighting.

AEW presents Collision at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and HBO Max. AEW is running on a hot streak from All In and Dynamite, so perhaps it’ll continue with Collision. National Champion Andrade is defending against Gabe Kidd, TBS Champion Persephone battles VertVixen (with Dr. Britt Baker D.D.S. on commentary), and a ROH Women’s World Title Proving Grounds match as Athena faces Isla Dawn. There’s also the Motor City Machine Guns against The Swirl, The Young Bucks battle members of the Don Callis Family, two more members of the Callis Family battle members of the Bang Bang Gang, and several other matches are on the card.

WWE presents Lucha Libre AAA at 10 p.m. ET on YouTube. Two matches been confirmed with La Parka, El Fiscal and Mr. Iguana battling Dinamico and Los Vipers. La Catalina will be in action. We’ll probably do a lot of recapping of last weekend’s big show as well.

The Blog of Doom writing squad has been hard at it. Niz reviewed last night’s SmackDown featuring the final hype for tomorrow’s Sunday Night’s Main Event. Logan reviewed a June 1996 episode of Raw featuring Marc Mero vs Owen Hart, Mike reviewed Great American Bash 2000 featuring the first layer of hell, and I reviewed WrestleMania 36 Night One in the latest WWE Rewind.
