Evening Daily News Update – June 11th, 2025

By Garth Holmberg on 11 June 2025

Good Evening, Doomers. It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! We get another 4-hour block of AEW with Dynamite and Collision running back-to-back. We can look forward to Swerve Strickland vs Will Ospreay, the Contract signing between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada, Timeless Toni vs Julia Hart, The Hurt Syndicate take on the trio of Speedball Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight and Komander, Kyle Fletcher vs Anthony Bowens, Thekla vs Queen Aminata, and Mistico will be in action as well. If you’re not down with AEW, WWE Evolve is on tonight as well.

You can read about last night’s episode of NXT courtesy of Niz, Jabroniville has more Dream Matches (including what I can only imagine is a god awful encounter between Outhouse Jack and Frenchy Martin), Maffew has another edition of Live Feed Mania, covering the January 9th, 2001 taping of Smackdown, and LScisco recaps the February 12th, 1994 episode of Superstars for What the World Was Watching.

Chelsea Green Confirms Original Plans For Secret HERvice
In a recent interview, Green said that Blair Davenport was originally part of the group, but her release caused a change of plans and Alba Fyre, who was split off from Isla Dawn as another cut, was put in the spot instead.

Danhausen Contract Status
Looks like Danhausen will hit the free agent market sooner than later. There’s no confirmation that his BFF Pepsi Phil has a spot reserved for him in Stamford.

YouTube Spotlight: The Story of Latino Heat
In April 2000, Chyna shockingly aligned with Eddie Guerrero, transforming him into “Latino Heat.” Watch the full romance between Guerrero and Chyna, including backstage moments, classic matches, a surprise proposal, a crushing breakup and more.

Game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight in Indiana with the series split between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder. It feels like these playoffs are never going to end! Hopefully the TV broadcast will show a little more respect for the Larry O’Brien than those dollar tree digital images put on the court in the last game. We get these ridiculous eye-sores of court designs for the NBA Cup, but THE NBA FINALS and all you get is a bunch of YouTube TV logos. Great job, Adam Silver.

Catching up on MLB… The Philadelphia Phillies skid down the standings, falling 5 games behind the Mighty New New York Mets, with a series sweep at the hands of the offensively impotent Pittsburgh Pirates being the biggest embarrassment. The Tampa Bay Rays officially signed and retired Evan Longoria, and now I feel old, because he’s roughly the same age as I am. The Colorado Rockies are sitting at 12-54. The Miami Marlins falling apart like the Phillies helped boost them to a 3-game winning streak AND a series victory for the first time all year, but the L’s are piling up again.

As always, keep it clean and come out dooming. – GH (Obi Toppin’s #1 Fan!!!!!!!!!)
