NXT – June 10, 2025

We open with a highlights package from last week’s show , including the arrival of the Glamourous Era in the Women’s division, and the battle between Mike Santana and Trick Williams over the TNA World Championship.

Tonight’s show comes from the Performance Center. Our first walkup shot is Tony D’Angelo, who’s joined by his tag partner on tonight’s show, Luca Crusifino. The next shot is of NXT men’s champion Oba Femi, who is jumped in the parking lot by his opponent on tonight’s show, Jasper Troy. Troy slams Femi onto the hood of a car and predictably, the windshield shatters. The NXT Parking Lot has claimed yet another victim.

Men’s North American Championship: Ethan Page (C) vs Sean Legacy

Page, coming off successfully defending his title in the four-way at Worlds Collide, enters first. The bell rings and we’re off.

Page grabs a headlock to start as Corey Graves gives some background on Legacy including that he was bullied for liking wrestling as a kid. They go to the mat and Legacy rolls Page over for one while still in the headlock. Page shoulderblocks Legacy down, but Legacy recovers to get a rana. A Legacy dropkick attempt is swept away by Page who goes back to the headlock. The camera manages to get a shot of Page holding Legacy in the never-ending headlock with two brightly colored “Ethan Sucks” signs in the background, and the crowd is booing. Legacy manages to reverse and grab his own headlock. They run the ropes and Legacy gets a glancing low dropkick, a double-stomp, and a standing dropkick to knock Page to the floor. We go to picture-in-picture commercials.

Legacy controls during the commercials, taking the fight to Page on the floor and I have no idea if the ref is counting them or not. Page misses a chop and Legacy connects with one, staggering the champ. Legacy kicks Page and rolls him up for one. Page whips Legacy to the floor and as Legacy charges back in, Page kicks him and hits a kind of Codebreaker-type thing. Page works Legacy over in the corner and hits him with a HUGE chop. They fight in the center but Page lifts a knee into Legacy’s ribs to end the skirmish.

Back live and both are just trading right hands in the center of the ring. Page gets a big boot on Legacy, and places him in the corner. Page’s superplex attempt is blocked and Legacy drops Page’s arm hard on the ropes. Legacy hits a missile dropkick and both guys are down. The crowd is chanting for Legacy as both make it back to their feet. We get a long shot of our announce team who are as always Booker T, Vic Joseph, and Corey Graves. Legacy hits a pair of forearms and a low reverse kick. Legacy whiffs on a high kick but catches Page in a fallaway German suplex. Legacy hits a running roundhouse kick to Page’s ear for two. Legacy attempts his finisher, but Page slides off and nails Legacy with a roundhouse kick of his own. Legacy recovers and hits Page with a side Michinoku Driver for a LONG two. Legacy goes up but Page recovers and punches and headbutts Legacy to stop the momentum. Page hits Legacy with a dropping backbreaker on the top turnbuckle and Legacy crumples to the floor. Page tells the announcers to move and I’m worried about Booker’s candy supply. Page wants Ego’s Edge on the announce table, but Legacy slides off and runs Page face-first into the corner pole. Legacy hits a dropkick while Page is on the floor, and then runs the ropes and hits Page with a rolling dive. Legacy goes for a 450 but Page escapes and hits Legacy with Twisted Grin and that gets three.

The opening couple of minutes were not good, but they worked the “cocky champ wildly underestimates his opponent” match reasonably well by the end. Legacy mostly did well despite clearly missing some attempted strikes, and he is OVER with the PC crowd. Page annoys me but he gave the kid some shine so I’ll let it pass.

Winner and STILL NXT Men’s North American Champion – Ethan Page (Twisted Grin)

Post match, and here’s Ricky Saints beating the crap out of Page in the center of the ring. Saints clotheslines Page out of the ring and they fight to the back. So I guess we’re back to that. Hooray?

Here’s NXT GM Ava with Fatal Influence in the GM’s office. Jacy Jayne asks Ava why she didn’t run the new Glamourous arrival by her first. In walks Lainey Reid, who slaps Jayne and tells her she’s ready for Jayne now. Jayne says she’s trying the “Jacy Jayne playbook” (given how Jayne did the same thing to Stephanie Vaquer to incite her into a title match) and it won’t work. So Reid slaps her again, and leaves. Jayne tells Ava she wants Lainey tonight with the title on the line (giving us three title matches, assuming Oba Femi can go) and Ava agrees. I’ve said before they have too many weekly title matches on this show and I stand by it. We go to commercials.

We come back to a pre-tape/Tik Tok with women’s North American champion Sol Ruca and Zaria from the locker room. They witness Lash Legend trash talking Wren Sinclair (she calls Charles Dempsey a “shaggy haired oompa loompa” and I die with laughter) with Karmen Petrovic. Kelani Jordan walks up and Legend tells her to zip it, as Sinclair tells Legend to knock it off with the NQCC chatter. This, of course, means that Sinclair and Legend will tangle tonight because NO ONE CALLS CHARLES A SHAGGY HAIRED OOMPA LOOMPA AND GETS AWAY WITH IT.

The Culling are up next in a pre-tape. Izzi Dame explains why she kicked Brooks Jensen out of group on last week’s show. Jensen dressed differently than them, didn’t seem to enjoy the “family” talk they used, and got pinned by Hank and Tank at Battleground. Spears congratulates Dame for seeing something he didn’t see. Vance and Spears will take on Briggs and Inamura tonight, and Dame says she has her eyes on something.

Shawn Spears/Niko Vance vs Josh Briggs/Yoshiki Inamura

Psycho Clown and Octagon Jr are at ringside. Seriously, if you haven’t seen Worlds Collide, you should find time to watch it. Graves puts over Triplemania Regia which is this Sunday.

It will be Inamura and Vance to start. They lock up and Vance grabs a headlock. It must have been Wrestling Fundamentals Week or something. Inamura and Vance trade ineffective shoulderblocks, and then Inamura comes off the ropes with a jumping forearm and Vance tumbles into the corner. Inamura charges and Vance leapfrogs over him and nails Inamura with a headbutt. Vance drags Inamura over and tags in Spears. Spears moves Inamura into a corner and chops him, but Inamura fires up as Spears chops him again. Spears chops him twice more, and Inamura has had enough. He whips Spears into the corner and lays in some heavy chops, then drags Spears into his corner and tags in Briggs. Briggs and Inamura hit a double team body slam on Spears, Inamura sneaks in one last chop before he departs, and Briggs drops a huge elbow on Spears. Briggs covers and gets two. Spears slides out of the ring and as Briggs walks up, Spears shoulderblocks him in the gut. Briggs catches Spears with a right as Spears is trying a springboard move and then slams him back in the ring as Vance advances to help his teammate. Briggs boots Vance down, but eats a superkick from Spears. They run the ropes and Briggs gets a flying splash on Spears, who ends up draped in the ropes. Briggs slides out of the ring and hits him with a right, and then turns to see Izzi Dame charging up with a chair. She smiles at Briggs, tosses him the chair, and Vance waffles Briggs from behind with a clothesline. Vance charges after Briggs, and I guess Vance is legal now? I didn’t see a tag. Vance ties up Briggs and nails him with a bunch of elbows, then drags him up to hit him with a lariat, which gets two.

Vance gets a shoulderblock on Briggs in the corner, then hits him with a flying shoulderblock as Briggs staggered into the middle of the ring. Vance tags in Spears, and Spears decides to taunt Inamura giving Briggs time to recover and nail Spears with a right. Briggs tags in Inamura and he cleans house on both, sending Vance to the floor and knocking Spears down with a big forearm. Inamura goes into his sumo routine and hits Spears with a bunch of thrust chops in the corner, and then a big running body splash. Vance tags in as Inamura is apparently tagged by Briggs. They double team Spears and then Vance charges in to meet a side slam and standing splash from Briggs. Briggs is busted open and ascends, but Spears grabs his leg. Briggs sends Spears to the floor where Inamura trucks him down. Vance catches Briggs on the top rope and overhead slams him down and gets three? Okay then.

The finish came out of nowhere so I don’t know if they got told to go home early or what. Just a television match and not much more.

Post match, the Culling watch from ringside as Inamura tries to console Briggs. We go to commercials.

Back live, we’re in Ava’s office as she berates Ricky Saints (who has a bandage over his Adam’s apple to sell the chair spot from the NA title match) because Saints is not medically cleared. Saints apparently can’t talk yet, so Ava tells him to go home and rest and that she doesn’t want to see him again until he’s cleared. Saints leaves.

Here’s Sarah Schreiber from the Medical area to let us know that Oba Femi is still being attended to and that as of now the title match is still on. The camera swings around and here’s Chase U who are coming to the realization that challenging Darkstate was probably not the best idea. Andre Chase says if they’re going to do this, they have to do it his way. Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors agree to this, and it’s apparently time to go back to class.

Here’s a video on Blake Monroe (the former Mariah May). She’s in a bubble bath, she’s wearing a towel, she’s picking out clothes, she’s putting on makeup!

We go to commercials as Lash Legend makes her entrance.

Lash Legend vs Wren Sinclair

Sinclair is seconded by Charles Dempsey and Tavion Heights, but she tells them she’s “got this” and they retreat. Kelani Jordan is on commentary and Legend doesn’t seem happy about that. The bell rings and we’re off.

Sinclair goes behind to start, but Legend uses her size and power advantage to hip-toss Sinclair easily. Legend goes to trash talk Jordan, and when she turns back, Sinclair drop kicks her into the corner. Sinclair hits a short lariat and a back elbow and then grabs a headlock (!). Legend hoists her up easily and tosses her off, but Sinclair outmaneuvers her and tries for a backslide. Legend comically waves her arms to try to keep balance. Legend stays upright so Sinclair SWEEPS THE LEG, and then ties both arms up while she bridges. Sinclair gets an armbar, but Legend hoists her up again. Sinclair pushes Legend away and then runs into a high boot from Legend that floors her. Legend drapes Sinclair over the second rope and punishes her with rights, and then glares at Jordan while talking trash. Legend hits a big running splash on Sinclair for two. Legend grabs a bear hug. I’m telling you, it was Fundamentals Week at the PC. Sinclair elbows her way out of the hold but Legend lifts a knee to her ribs. Legend misses a charge and Sinclair elbows her. Sinclair hits two open hand chops and then ducks a clothesline attempt. Sinclair gets a big rana and then a swinging DDT, but Legend rolls out to the floor before she can get a pin attempt. Sinclair tries for a rana from the apron to the floor but Legend catches her. Sinclair kicks Legend in the knee area and then dropkicks her. Sinclair pushes Legend back in the ring and ascends. Sinclair tries a high cross-body but Legend catches her again. Legend botches whatever finisher she was trying for but she drops Sinclair behind her, covers her and gets three.

The finish was obviously botched and there wasn’t a ton to the match. Legend looked a bit slow here and Wren always works hard. I like where her offense is going. Lash is going to have to step up her game with this singles push.

Winner – Lash Legend (?)

Post match Jordan and Legend glare at each other. The NXT Progressive Profile is on Lainey Reid (who in this shot looks remarkably like she could be related to Britt Baker). She promises to shock the world tonight. We go to commercials.

Back live and Sarah Schreiber is with Jasper Troy. She questions his tactic of attacking Oba Femi in the parking lot because it might actually mean the title match cannot happen if Femi isn’t cleared. Troy says he knew exactly what he was doing because even if Femi is hurt, he’s a warrior, a beast, and he knows he’ll be out there tonight to defend. He’s counting on it.

NXT Women’s Championship: Jacy Jayne (C) vs Lainey Reid

This is Reid’s NXT television debut match. They must think they have something with her. Jayne is seconded by Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. Mike Rome does the in-ring intros. The bell rings and off we go.

Jayne charges and immediately gets rolled up by Reid for two. Reid slides another charge and kicks Jayne and rolls her up again for two. Reid rams Jayne into the corner and goes to work, then drags her out to the middle and runs her face-first into another corner. Three big back elbows from Reid connect, and then Jayne comes back by tossing Reid into the other corner. Reid hits a springboard splash on Jayne for another two count, and Henley smirks at Jayne in the background. Reid is definitely working like a heel here. Jayne’s had enough so she slams Reid onto her knee, then hits a monster short-arm lariat for two. Jayne puts the boots to her and then hits two short running sentons tells the crowd that’s why she’s the champ as Booker is really enjoying things. Reid fires up with punches, but when she runs the ropes Jayne catches her with a superkick. Reid is halfway under the ropes so Jayne flips her up throat-first into the bottom rope. Reid is going to need Ricky Saints doctor’s number. Fatal comes over to trash talk as we go to picture-in-picture.

During PIP, Jayne does her slinky dance, then stalks Reid. She runs Reid face first into two corners and then starts throwing bombs. A boot to the throat from Jayne is stopped by the referee’s four count. Jayne puts her knee into Reid’s back as she’s draped over the second rope. Jayne yanks Reid off the ropes and points to her noggin like a proper heel would. Love that. Jayne slaps Reid a couple of times and trash talks. Jayne whips Reid into the ropes and catches the challenger with a monster back elbow, which gets two. Jayne slaps her again, and tries for another, but Reid blocks it and slaps Jayne back from her knees. Jayne puts the kibosh on the comeback with a big knee to Reid’s gut, and then twists Reid’s head to the side. Reid breaks out of it and rolls Jayne up for two. It’s real punchy-kicky at the moment as Reid throws a Euro uppercut that connects, sunshine. They run the ropes and Jayne catches Reid with a neckbreaker for two. Jayne goes to ground and pound, and then a short superkick to Reid’s face. Jayne starts dropping elbows and then grabs a HEADLOCK which turns into a bulldog choke.

Back live and Reid is finally on her feet, and she drives Jayne back-first into the corner. Jayne hits a double thrust and then goes back to the boot to the throat. The ref’s count breaks it up as Jayne once again taunts. Jayne misses a charge and Reid hits a low shotgun dropkick to Jayne’s ribs. Henley and Nyx look horrified. Reid fires up and we go punchy-kicky again before Reid hits a charging Jayne with a back elbow. Jayne tries the bottom rope throat thing again, but Reid kicks her off. Jayne charges in and nails Reid in the throat with a kick. Jayne is calling for Reid to stand up while Henley and Nyx cackle at the challenger. Jayne charges in with a hip attack and then sets Reid on the top turnbuckle. She kicks Reid in the head but Reid blocks her superplex attempt. Reid headbutts Jayne down and tries for a Blockbuster and it only partially connects. Graves covers for this by saying that Reid rushed it a bit because of her overzealousness. That’s good announcing work. We reset as both combatants come to their knees.

They slug it out and Reid gets the advantage. Reid runs Jayne over a couple of times and then lifts her into a knee drop and side Russian leg sweep, before stomping the champ’s head. Reid fires up as Jayne staggers into a corner. Reid hits a running elbow and then a twisting suplex for two. Reid tries for a suplex but Jayne hits her with three elbows. Jayne goes for a big boot but Reid catches it. They run the ropes and Jayne gets a rana, but when she charges again Reid slips it and hits a big knee for a LONG two. Reid rolls Jayne up for two. Reid goes for a springboard, but Henley distracts her and Jayne trips Reid up while her head hits the top rope. Jayne hits the Rolling Encore discus punch for three.

Easy match of the night so far. Reid had some nerves but she definitely showed out in a debut (although I think they are going to have to define face and heel with her thoroughly so she works appropriately in that regard) and Jacy gave her some shine. Also they hit the CRAP out of each other with some of these shots and I always appreciate that. I’m just gonna say it, I really enjoyed this. Reid needs reps but she seems legit as heck.

Winner AND STILL Women’s NXT Champion – Jacy Jayne (Rolling Encore discus punch)

Post match sees Ava in the NXT Roost to tell Jacy that she will decide who Jayne’s next opponent will be. There will be four singles matches next week and whomever wins those matches will be in a fatal four-way on June 24th. The winner of the fatal four-way will be the number one contender and face Jayne at Evolution. Well then, that’s pretty cool! We have been joined by Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, Thea Hail, Lola Vice, Lash Legend, Zaria, Izzi Dame, and Jordynne Grace.

Here’s Cody Rhodes chatting with Damien Priest (while presumably drinking Wheatley Vodka who’s product placement is….everywhere) about Priest getting to meet Scott Hall while he was in NXT. He asked Hall if he could do the Razor’s Edge and have it called that and Hall agreed, but wanted to make sure Nash was cool with it. Side note, I want to see Priest team up with Mike Santana now. The podcast drops tomorrow (which is today!)

Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura are in the locker room and Briggs is pissed that he lost. Here are AJ Francis and KC Navarro of TNA to talk trash (Francis is wearing Biggie t-shirt that I’m jealous he has). First Class want the NXT tag titles. Inamura calls Francis “annoying”, so Francis tells him he was taking over the NXT locker room before he even left Japan as Briggs looks dubious. Here’s Elijah strumming his guitar to chase off First Class, who want to go talk to the TNA World Champion.

Luca Crusifino is on the phone and tells someone he’ll “get it done”. Tony D’Angelo walks up and asks what the call was, and Crusifino tells him he was taking care of some business. Crusifino offers to let The Don lead the way, but D’Angelo would rather Luca go first. They make their entrance as we go to commercials.

Backstage, Tavion Heights is chatting with Myles Borne. Charles and Wren Sinclair arrive and Borne wants to know why Wren wanted to chat. Charles tells Myles he’s a man of his word and wishes Borne good luck while shaking his hand. Borne is happy as Je’von Evans comes bouncing in to dap him up. Tavion Heights tells Charles he wants his shot at leaving too and Charles says he’s not ready to face him in the ring yet. Evans is flabbergasted and Charles says they’re going to rule NXT and walks off. Wren promises Heights she’ll talk to him.

The Family (Tony D’Angelo and Luca Crusifino) vs High Ryze (Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont)

Wes Lee is seconding High Ryze. Lee will be on Evolve tomorrow night facing the awesomely-named Cappuccino Jones. D’Angelo tells Crusifino to start as the bell rings.

Crusifino and Igwe start things off. Crusifino goes behind and Igwe tosses him off. They grapple and Igwe gets a knee into Crusifino’s face. Crusifino ducks a clothesline attempt and hits a big knee that staggers Igwe. Crusifino grabs Igwe and wants a tag but the Don tells him he’s got it and won’t tag in. Igwe drops Crusifino on his head and tags in Dupont and they double team Crusifino while D’Angelo watches on impassively. Dupont misses a stomp and Crusifino rolls him up for one. Dupont gets a big right hand and stalks Crusifino in the corner. Crusifino grabs an arm and D’Angelo is finally ready to tag in. D’Angelo tells Crusifino to release the hold and leave the ring, which he does. D’Angelo hits a punch and then comes off the rope with a Superman punch. D’Angelo grabs Dupont by the head and starts whaling him with uppercuts to the gut. Dupont runs him into the team corner and Igwe tags in while Dupont holds the Don. Igwe puts the boots to D’Angelo and suddenly there’s a Blake Monroe graphic to let us know she’ll be signing her NXT contract next week, which Booker is very excited about. Slugfest in the middle and D’Angelo wins that with a huge right. Crusifino is being distracted by Wes Lee as D’Angelo wants to tag out, so Igwe blasts D’Angelo in the kidney with a right. Dupont tags in and hits D’Angelo with a leaping clothesline in the corner, and then Igwe tags immediately back in. Igwe gets a knee and tags Dupont back in. They whip D’Angelo into the ropes but he catches himself, and dumps Igwe to the floor before rolling away from Dupont to tag in Crusifino.

Crusifino runs wild on both opponents and he dumps Dupont to the floor. Igwe grabs Crusifino and launches him towards the corner, but Crusifino goes up and over before nailing Igwe with a springboard shoulderblock. Crusifino tags in D’Angelo and wants to fly with him assisting, so D’Angelo does his part and launches him onto High Ryze. We go to picture-in-picture.

During PIP, Crusifino tosses Dupont back into the ring as I forget who’s actually legal for High Ryze at this point. We’ll go with Dupont. D’Angelo does the uppercuts again and then gets an underhook suplex. D’Angelo whips Dupont into the team corner and tags in Crusifino, and they hit a double team elbow on Dupont. D’Angelo wipes out a sneaky Igwe attempt to help, and Crusifino pushes D’Angelo out of the way as a recovered Dupont hits a huge spear on Crusifino. Dupont puts the boots to Crusifino as Igwe is back on the apron. Igwe tags in and drops Crusifino throat first on the top rope. Igwe covers for two, and tags in Dupont. Dupont hits a running splash on Crusifino for two. Dupont pie-faces Crusifino and talks trash. Crusifino fires a chop from his knees, but Dupont kicks him down in response. Dupont goes to ground and pound and then tags in Igwe. Dupont holds Crusifino while Igwe chops him and hits him with a big right, and then Dupont casually throws Crusifino down while Igwe covers for two. Igwe grabs a sleeper.

Back live and Igwe hits a shoulderbreaker on Crusifino for one. Igwe throws a couple rights, but Crusifino blocks the next one and fires back. Igwe lifts a knee to stop that and then fires Crusifino into the corner before charging in with a lariat. He repeats the spot in the opposite corner and then yanks up Crusifino. Crusifino slips out and comes firing off the ropes with a Codebreaker. Crusifino struggles over but gets the tag to D’Angelo. D’Angelo runs wild on both opponents with rights and hits both with belly-to-belly tosses. D’Angelo hits Igwe with a huge spinebuster and here’s Stacks Lorenzo with a crowbar. D’Angelo tosses Stacks into the ring and he drops the crowbar. Stacks tries to escape with D’Angelo holding him by the leg, and Crusifino wanders in and picks up the crowbar as D’Angelo has his back to him. D’Angelo turns and sees Crusifino holding the crowbar and thinks he was going to hit him. Igwe hits D’Angelo from behind as they argue and tags in Dupont. Igwe and Dupont hit their double-team drop clothesline finisher for three.

With an overbooked finish, at least this made some sense. I really like the fact that Igwe and Dupont are big guys WHO WRESTLE LIKE BIG GUYS. Power moves, yes, ring awareness, yes, good continuity and teamwork, yes. This was their best outing for me. The Family saga continues on I suppose. This match did what it was supposed to do storyline-wise and everyone worked hard.

Winners – High Ryze (double team drop clothesline to D’Angelo)

Post match and Stacks is talking trash to D’Angelo while Crusifino looks upset.

Here’s Sarah Schrieber with TNA World Champion Trick Williams. She asks Trick about First Class’s involvement with his defense against Mike Santana on last week’s NXT and Trick doesn’t care what people say about him. He mentions Santana’s promise to his daughter that he would win the TNA title and that he lied to his daughter’s face. Elijah lost to Trick last Friday night at Against All Odds and Trick says he needs guitar lessons to learn how to squabble. There’s a six man tag next week with Inamura, Briggs and Elijah vs Trick and First Class. Trick says if Briggs and Inamura want to walk with Elijah he’ll dogwalk their asses out of NXT. Well then.

Here’s Jasper Troy on his way to the ring. Oba Femi is also on his way to the ring with his midsection heavily bandaged as we go to commercials.

Back live and we have the announcement of the qualifying singles matches for the women’s number one contender’s tournament and here they are: Lash Legend vs Kelani Jordan, Zaria vs Izzi Dame, Thea Hail vs Jaida Parker and Lola Vice vs Jordynne Grace.

Men’s NXT Championship: Oba Femi (C) vs Jasper Troy

Troy steps over the top rope upon entering and I remember that other than Big Bill, you don’t really see that happen much anymore. Femi gingerly makes his way to the ring. Mike Rome does the in-ring intros and we’re off with the bell.

Femi is immediately throwing bombs, but Troy lifts a knee into the damaged ribs. He yanks Femi up and slams him hard and then mostly misses a running senton which gets a two count. Troy starts throwing bombs and lifts Femi up onto his shoulder, but Femi slides off and gets a powerslam on a charging Troy. Femi grabs an arm and starts shouldering Troy. Troy grabs Femi by the throat but Femi breaks it up and gets a slap and a big right elbow, which staggers Troy. They lock up and Femi wants to lift Troy, but it’s reversed and Troy hits a twisting suplex that sends Femi to the floor. Troy stalks out but Femi recovers with a huge slap to Troy’s chest. Troy mostly no-sells it and jumps down to the floor to nail Femi with a lariat. He tosses Femi back in and whips him from one corner to the other. Troy picks up Femi and repeats the spot and the TURNBUCKLE BREAKS. The crowd is going insane as Troy celebrates. We go to picture-in-picture as the crowd is clearly chanting a profanity that you can probably guess.

During PIP they keep fighting as a bunch of referees come out to try to fix the ring. Troy hits a Sidewalk Slam for two. Troy gets Femi locked and and throws elbows at his ribs as they have to slow this down further to let the ring get repaired. Femi starts to fire up and as he makes it to his feet he hiptosses Troy, who smiles after landing. Femi runs the ropes but Troy trucks him as the ring seems to be put back together finally. Troy covers for two. Troy stands on Femi’s chest and then yanks him up to hit a spinning backbreaker, which gets two. Troy hits a short splash for two. He hits another one and gets two.

Back live and Troy hits a rabbit punch before hoisting Femi onto his shoulder. Femi drops to the apron and as Troy charges in Femi clubs him in the back and then brings him onto the apron to throw bombs. Troy recovers and drops Femi back-first onto the apron. Another running splash from Troy gets a longer two. Femi reverses a suplex attempt and tries to fire up. A slugfest leads to two consecutive Femi clotheslines and Troy is down. Femi hits an overhead half fishermen’s suplex, and then charges into the corner where Troy has parked himself with a giant Euro uppercut. Troy comes charging back and trucks Femi in the corner, but Femi recovers and hits a huge spinebuster for two. We reset with both guys on the canvas.

They trade giant headbutts, clothesline attempts and big boot attempts before Femi goes for a chokeslam. Troy elbows his way out of it and runs Femi shoulder-first into the ring post. Troy gets the chokeslam and covers for two as Graves says Femi is purely running on instinct at this point. Troy hoists Femi up but Femi uses his weight to land on top of Troy and goes for Fall From Grace, but Troy backdrops him to get out of it. They come together and Femi lifts Troy up and dumps him down, but Troy recovers and hits a big twisting Black Hole Slam. He can’t make the pin attempt though, and Booker is apoplectic. Troy finally covers for two. Troy goes for a Vader Bomb but Femi gets the knees up. Femi clotheslines Troy and both tumble out of the ring over the top rope. Femi runs Troy into the barrier which completely falls apart upon impact (and luckily doesn’t hurt the tiny child seated in the front row). Graves calls it a “kaiju battle in the Performance Center” and he’s not wrong. Femi hits the Fall From Grace and I thought the ref counted three but then apparently Troy got his shoulder up at the last possible mili-second. Femi hits a second Fall From Grace and that gets the three count.

A physical war that had the crowd on its feet the entire time. I really didn’t expect anything less and if you like hoss battles, this is your jimmy jam right here. Troy didn’t look nervous other than missing the senton early and the match had the appropriate hoss-battle trappings (the broken turnbuckle and smashed barrier) that you’d want. A really decent main event overall.

Winner AND STILL NXT Men’s Champion – Oba Femi (two Fall From Graces)

The second hour was phenomenal. The first, not so much. Things are moving into place and the women will get a lot of shine next week which is a good thing. They set up the entire next week’s show with the four singles matches and the six man with the TNA folks. We’ll give this a thumbs up and tell you to seek out the last three matches (women’s title, the High Ryze/Family tag, and the main event).
