The End of the Bloodline Era
By Scott Keith on 22 April 2025
Last night felt like the bloodline era finally ended with Seth and Heyman's Alliance changing the wrestling landscape. Which how fitting once again its Seth ending a chapter in Romans career. Sure there will be spinoffs of the bloodline for years to come, and you still have solo and his group, as well as Jacob and Jey as champions. But the Bloodline being the top focus of wwe seems over, and I am just curious what it's legacy will be?
To me, it solidified Roman as one of the greatest of all time, and might be the greatest work of Heyman ever. Look how many acts are better off because of it, Roman wasn't lying about bringing folks to the island of revelancy. It completely revitalized Sami's career and turned Jey into a main eventer. Even Jimmy got lifted up alot by it. As a storyline it was 5 years, and while you can argue it had plenty of downs to go with the ups, you have to appreciate how long they were able to keep it going without completely jumping the shark and losing the plot. Early Covid was rough for WWE, as it was for everyone, but more so cause how bad things had gotten for the company. If you would have told me in 2019 that wwe would be a Titan again in the entertainment industry I don't think I would believe you. But you could argue they might be more of juggernaut now then they were on the attitude era. So curious to think what you and others think the bloodline should or will be remembered for a decade from now. Will it be like alot of us remember the attitude era?
Does that mean we’re done with extra innings or whatever the metaphor was? It was a big money angle that they milked too long and ran out of ideas for. I can’t call it an all time classic story or anything though.
