If Hawk and Animal had never met each other, do you think either of them would have had any reasonable career as a singles wrestler? Or, secondary question, is there another wrestler who would have suited one of them as a tag partner?
Nah, in fact they were both ready to quit the business when Ole put them together as the Warriors. It was basically a once in a lifetime pairing that happened to click perfectly.
