a “model” wrestler?

sk,
long time long time.
topic of discussion for the blog: how underrated is rick martel's career?
guy came up in 73 in the prime territory era, was a multiple time world tag champion when he was still in his 20s in an era where that was quite rare, was a world title holder for the wrestling-based awa when the awa world title was legitimately one of the big three, fit himself into the wwf tag scene was was a world title contender and/or champion with two different partners, completely updated his look and gimmick and totally changed his body to fit into the end of the rock and wrestling/”character” era where he was a completely cromulent ic title contender and midcard/lower main event heel for the better part of a decade, and was in the process of making an absolutely kick ass comeback in wcw and working really strong matches in 1999(!) with the likes of booker t and perry saturn, where he won the tv title, as well as putting on fun jobber matches on the b and c shows, when he gorked his knee once and for all.
hell of a worker, built himself into a great greaseball heel, and a *26 year* run which wasn't over when it unfortunately ended. just an outstanding career.

Much respect to Martel. Long career, GREAT babyface and versatile tag team wrestler, GREAT heel, got out young enough to do something with his life. 100 percent he’s a Hall of Famer.
