Good morning Mr. Keith. Hope all is well. Was watching Full Gear 19' this weekend and that's where Mox vs. Omega exposed the ring boards for the big finish. Noticing the padding that was underneath got me thinking, has the ring makeup changed very much in the past decades? Has WWE ever, or thought to, invest in technology that would make the rings better overall for the body for the talent, while keeping it believable?
They can put LED's and advertisements all over the place but can they make it possible for the glass of red wine not to spill while KO lands a stunner, and also make sure he doesn't deteriorate his hips and body rapidly ?
The ring has changed a LOT over the years, most notably when Vince started getting in the ring and working and discovering that he hated taking bumps on it. WCW was always more of a trampoline according to people who worked in it. The ring will usually end up getting tailored to the styles and changed over time as needed.
