Can we all agree that Mercedes Monet has been the biggest waste of money signing in AEW? What exactly has she done to draw any money, viewers, attendance, or elevate any other talent? She has run roughshod over the entire women’s division, to the point they have to bring in randoms from Japan to face her. Everyone who has entered Mercedes orbit has either left worse off or disappeared completely. She has abused her creative control to have her own little universe, gobbling up all challengers while the real money feud with Toni Storm is ignored and we’re stuck on an eternal Storm/May loop. I guess she doesn’t care as long as she gets to be the “CEO” of a company that performs in front of 1800 fans per show and cashes her Tony Khan checks.
But what say you Scott: how big of a flop has Mercedes been and why has Tony Khan allowed her to decimate the women’s division?
You could more likely argue they’re not pushing her hard enough at this point and she should probably be World Champion but I guess your argument is certainly a take.
