Jack Tunny unappreciation Day!

By Scott Keith on 17 February 2025

Anyway. On this Presidents Day celebrating Jack Tunney, a grudge i had against him since he just couldn't handle the whole 91 title mess without favoritism (Chairs, Flairs, Ashes…..Hogan awarded WM Title match at a press conference), i was wondering something. Was the whole 6 Day Undertaker(my favorite at my age of 6 during this time) reign JUST to sell Tuesday in Texas? And if so, i get it, it was a theoretical business decision. But when I look at everything from Survivor Series until WM8, how much was planned well ahead and how much was thrown out the window? How early was Flair gonna win the rumble, and when did they decide to have the title as the prize? Obviously Flair & Hogan was on the table, but when did they decide it wasn't? And Hogan got himself top WM billing, but was he really ok with DQ ending, at Mania? Was he promised the title again soon after? WTF was he gonna work with Papa Shango?!? Did they know UT was gonna be a face by Wrestlemania with the attention he was getting by the two title matches? And you know, i think for a 6 day reign full of shenanigan's, my man at the time AT LEAST deserved a final four spot in that Rumble.

Yeah the Undertaker switch was just to set up Tuesday in Texas, which was supposed to create a weekly PPV experiment, but the first one bombed.
Hogan-Flair was the working idea for WM when Ric came in, but the matches were considered a box office disappointment and they dropped the idea soon after and shifted to Sid as the plan instead.
