The Heatless finishers

By Scott Keith on 30 January 2025

Good morning Mr. Keith, hope all is well. With another example at last nights Dynamite of the Moneymaker finish drawing absolutely zero heat/reaction, it got me thinking down a road.

I'm just about caught up on the 2019 AEW stuff now on Max, and while i wouldn't say it was crickets, The Judas Elbow from this new evolution of Jericho is just atrocious to witness and watch the limited reaction from the crowd. Especially compared to the high impact style AEW was introducing at the time.

Who do you think are some of the biggest stars who had the flattest finishers? We all knew the Worm wasn't devastating but it was one of the most over for years. I have only seen a few examples but I'm so thankful Okada hasn't tried to get the Moneyclip submission over here as a true finish. But in the land of Judas Elbow & Moneymakers, I'm actually surprised they aren't trying.

God I wish she’d just give up on that stupid Moneymaker or at least learn to hit her own move properly. And yeah, the Moneyclip era of Okada was some sad shit.

Ted Dibiase took FOREVER to find a top guy finisher once he got to the WWF, first trying out stuff like a spinning toehold before settling on the Million Dollar Dream. Cena took a while to figure out what he was gonna go with, but once he got the FU/AA over, it was all good.
