Save Gunther

SK,

Reading Nitro post on Booker T being an afterthought after his second WCW World title win.

Others come to mind:

Benoit post WM21

Rey post WM22

Del Rio

Punk

Any World Title holder that wasn’t Cena or HHH during first brand split

Gunther feels in danger of being an afterthought as champion behind Bloodline, Punk/Rollins/Drew, Cody/KO

What can be done to salvage his reign at this point? His IC reign felt more important.

I dunno, Gunther's swimming with some pretty big dogs there and is apparently in line for a Wrestlemania match with Goldberg, so if he drops the title to Jey Uso tonight and moves on from there, it's not the end of the world. He's not exactly a spring chicken that's gonna be on top for another decade anyway, they got the epic IC title reign out of him and then elevated him to World champion successfully, mission accomplished.
