What Happened to the Rock?
By Scott Keith on 8 January 2025
His segment on Monday was absolute death. It made no sense from a character or a storyline point of view. It really set an awful tone for the Netflix Era. It really killed my enjoyment of the rest of the show. (Side bar: That might have been the worst Raw I have ever seen. Just an absolute slog from start to finish.)
Then he comes back out on NXT, for the final segment and once again does nothing. I honestly can't even remember what he said. I think he dropped an F bomb or two though so I guess that's something.
Is his ego that big that he needs to make himself the centre of attention even when he has nothing to contribute?
I am not sure what he was going for with this, but Monday and Tuesday is not it.
Yes, his ego is justifiably that big. Moana 2 hits a billion dollars worldwide this week. I think the issue was the acoustics of the new LA arena, since it’s so new and people weren’t used to how the Rock’s promo was hitting the new state of the art sound system. And then he had to overcompensate and ended up also being perceived as rambling and had the next night on NXT in the much smaller arena. But really, the fault lies with the fans not being entertained by him correctly. The Rock is fine.
