Such a sad day for us middle aged fans
By Scott Keith on 31 December 2024
I think 98% of my wrestling watching has been working through ECW, WCW, NXT and WWF/E in the last 10 years. I’m currently around Feb 2000 for all of them,
I know this wont effect WWE in the slightest, my £9.99 a month is a piss in the oceon compared to deal they now have. But I have no interest in watching Raw and Smackdown every week. I’ll probably watch the PLE’s each month, fast forward half of it like normal.
I am gutted that I’ll never see HHH get his comeuppance at Backlash 2000 ( that pop for Austin is still great ) after watching the whole build up.
My go to when everyone was in bed at home was the network and we all know Netflix is going to be a such a small percentage of that.
Hey I hope a lot of the fan base is my demo and they realise they have lost us, I’ll probably give AEW another go on ITV as to be fair as a current product I do find it more interesting. But I doubt it.
Until then I’ll work through Star Wars and the Marvel films with my lad. At least that’ll bring back my childhood a bit..
All the best,
A recently lapsed fan.
