I followed Marc from his days in WCW as Johnny B. Badd and really liked him. Was excited when he moved to WWF and 14 year old me genuinely thought he could become a main eventer there. He was a pretty good worker and one of the first guys to do a shooting star press on US television. Probably the first as a heavyweight. Him vs HBK and him vs Bret were big dream matches for me at the time and I don't believe either ever ended up happening. My questions are do you agree? And either way, why do you think he never got there? Supposedly Vince was really high on him when he signed him.
He was pretty good as a worker but didn’t have much in the way of charisma that would translate to a main event character. IC champion was realistically his ceiling and then once he blew out his knee it was basically over for him as a top guy anyway.
