MJF/Death Riders

Would the whole Death riders work better if like MJF was the leader? I feel like one of the issues is nobody genuinely believes Moxley would be against anything AEW since he's sang their praises and acted like the savior a bunch of times. Part of MJFs gimmick has always been anti AEW. Then do whatever you have to do to bring Ricky Starks and Miro back, hell put Fenix back on TV since he has another year left anyway and then you have a group that feels like they are genuinely anti AEW. Part of the reason why the NWO worked is because they made you feel like they were anti WCW.
The two main issues I have are that the Death Riders don’t even intersect with anyone outside of the storyline players, so it’s not really a promotion threatening deal. Also I don’t buy any of the challengers to Moxley as legit threats to win the title, which makes the whole deal feel like treading water until they find the real guy.
