When they would put Bret or Shawn in Singles matches back when they were tag team wrestlers in the Coliseum Video tapes, was that a way of testing how they would do down the road as singles stars?
Also who was in charge of deciding what matches on the TV tapings were done for the home video or Prime Time, or just regular Dark matches? How involved was Vince in the booking and who went over etc for these exclusive matches?
Do you think something like Coliseum Video matches could work today if they were too tape extra matches on Raw and Smackdown and put them on Peacock or YouTube like they are doing with WWE Vault?
Yeah, it was definitely a test of Shawn and Bret. As with everything, Vince was very involved, along with his bootlickers Kevin Dunn and Pat Patterson.
Would it work today? Doubtful. There's hundreds of hours of footage out there that I don't even have time to watch as it is and there's not much that they could offer that would make me suddenly want to see some randos having rando matches. That train has sailed.
