Booking to internet fans

Reading your reviews of the mind-boggling Russo Nitros that he was trying to swerve the “internet marks”, made me think about what percentage of the wrestling audience was actually following wrestling on the internet.
I mean, sure there were some, but what percentage of fans were? Pretty sure people like us were in the minority. In 2000? It was like 2% or something like that. There were a lot more who were using the internet, but it wasn't until smartphones became ubiquitous in the iPhone era that wrestling fans in general started being online enough to get the inside baseball stuff. Like look at Bischoff making that crack about Sid in 99 and how that completely went over the heads of the entire audience. Even now there's a majority of people online but AEW tried stuff like booking the pizza guy from Twitter and no one knew who he was. Man that guy really ruined the Luigi name for everyone!
