WWE Excess

Can we talk about how many titles WWE has now and how there is no way to properly feature them all with the current structure. (for comparison WWE has 19 titles and AEW/ROH have 15)

Also AEW always gets complaints for their champions going 10+ minutes with people they should beat, yet no mention of it when Cody does it. For instance, here are Cody's past 3 matches:


v. Carmelo Hayes: 11:16
v. Chad Gable; 12:21
v. Kevin Owens: 12:03
WWE sure does have a lot of titles. At least they’re all well defined and make sense to me. World title on top, IC/US in the mid, Speed title on Twitter. AEWs problem is that they have seven different recognized titles in the mid card that are all basically equally important. Continental, TNT, International, ROH World, New Japan Strong, NEVER Open Weight and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. They’re all kind of vaguely defined in terms of importance and who can hold them. Check out the card for Wrestle Dynasty and explain to me in 20 words or less what title is on the line between Takeshita and Ishii, for example. It’s a real problem as a fan in terms of setting expectations with these things and mentally slotting guys in line for World title shots.
