Wrestling 2000

Hey Scott,
To think in my younger days I was such a fan of all wrestling I’d watch those terrible Nitros in 2000 hoping for anything good, but it was so apparent how far in fhe dust WWF was leaving them in every category.
But reading your reviews highlights how especially passé Russo’s internet stuff became when just 3-4 years before (my friends and I were in high school and just getting regular internet) all the inside stuff about who hated who or who was jumping where seemed so cutting edge. Yet WWF 2000 was enjoying sky high popularity by doing what wrestling does best and leaving it in the ring.
Stupid Russo was ironically the last to “Get it.”
Merry Christmas, and may you not have to suffer thru these shows much longer.

That’s the thing, it really does highlight how fast the zeitgeist changes in the entertainment world. Russo was three years too late with this stuff and now he’s completely behind the times and turning into the same out of touch old guy he was fighting against in 1997. He likely didn’t even get the irony of his own situation at the time.
