Hey Scott
Let’s say Vince Senior had a change of heart and kept the belt on Superstar instead of Backlund:
1) is it safe to say he turns face at some point?
2) does he get the full backlund run or do you think he would have gassed out?
3) if he’s still champ when hogan comes along how would that have played out? Or is there a chance if Superstar caught fire as a face that Vince holds off on Hogan?
To me Superstar is the biggest What If in the history of wrestling

1. Yes. It would have been impossible not to.
2. He would have probably dropped dead from an overdose a couple of years into his reign if we're being honest. He was deserving of a longer reign but he was absolutely not built to withstand being on top for a length of time like Backlund. I'd say a 2 year run would have been the max.
3. Again, no, he wasn't gonna make it to 1984. Just look at the condition he was in by 1984 in the real timeline.
He was insanely influential and definitely could have gone longer as champion, but he was a walking timebomb of drugs and self-destructive behavior. There was always gonna have to be a buffer between him and Hogan.
